Roman Reigns

Triple H wins Royal Rumble

As many people had predicted, Triple H was the final entrant in the Royal Rumble tonight. After eliminating Roman Reigns, the reigning WWE Heavyweight Champion, HHH battled it out with Dean Ambrose, whom the live Orlando audience was totally behind. After some entertaining spots, HHH managed to flip Ambrose over the ropes, thus becoming the brand new champion and earning a spot in the main event of Wrestlemania.

Daniel Bryan wins IC title

In the opening match of Wrestlemania, Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler, R Truth, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper in a ladder match to win the Intercontinental Championship. WWE expected a great performance here, and that is exactly what they got. Lots of good spots. Very high impact. The end saw Bryan and Ziggler trading stiff headbutts on top of the ladder before Bryan knocked out Ziggler.

Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose winning IC title

Odds makers are pretty good at what they do because they take a look at as many variables as they can before they make their predictions. They follow WWE pretty close and are frequently correct in their percentages. As of right now, the odds are that Dean Ambrose wins the ladder match at Wrestlemania and captures the Intercontinental Championship. Management probably hasn't chosen a winner in the match yet, however.

Roman Reigns

Dean Ambrose main event

While always entertaining Dean Ambrose is the popular choice to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania from Wade Barrett, management might be heading in a different direction. There are talks that they want to save Ambrose for a potential title program with Roman Reigns. Neither guy would turn heel. It would just be a case of Ambrose asking for a title shot, and Reigns showing that he is a fighting champion.

Daniel Bryan

Wrestlemania ladder match

We now know that ladders are going to play a part at Wrestlemania this year. WWE has officially announced that Wade Barrett is going to be defending the Intercontinental Championship at the pay per view in a ladder match. They also mentioned that it would be against multiple opponents. However, they failed to reveal which performers those will be. The assumption is Dean Ambrose, R Truth, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan.

Wade Barrett

Wade Barrett vs Dean Ambrose

In the fifth match of Fast Lane, Wade Barrett was successfully able to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship because the referee was forced to disqualify Dean Ambrose, who refused to listen to the official and his pleas for him to stop kicking Barrett in the corner. After the loss, Ambrose delivered the Dirty Deeds to Barrett before stealing the championship belt, which leads many to believe that a rematch will take place at Wrestlemania.

Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose opponent

Another potential Wrestlemania opponent has surfaced for Dean Ambrose. Depending on how well his match against Wade Barrett at Fast Lane goes, WWE could opt to make the switch at the big pay per view by replacing Barrett with the soon to return Sheamus, who is still heavily rumored to be making a heel turn to freshen up his stale character. Management definitely wants to reward Ambrose for his hard work with a spot on the card.

Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose vs Bad News Barrett

It looks like WWE might have finally found someone for Dean Ambrose to work with at Wrestlemania, where he was initially just penciled in as a backup plan in case Undertaker was not able to come back and work a high profile match against Bray Wyatt. Wade Barrett has been chosen to work a program with Ambrose. The two of them are more than likely wrestling at Fast Lane, but management could stretch that out to the big pay per view.

Bray Wyatt

Dean Ambrose at Wrestlemania

Considering how popular he has naturally become over the past year, it comes as a bit of a shock right now that Dean Ambrose is simply viewed as a backup plan by WWE when it comes to placement on the Wrestlemania card. They have him penciled in as an opponent for Bray Wyatt in case the Undertaker is physically unable to make another return. If that match happens, then Ambrose will be thrown into some random match elsewhere.

Dean Ambrose

Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania

As many of you already now, WWE has Bray Wyatt penciled in for a high profile match against the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, provided that the latter is healthy enough to do so. Right now, management is really keeping their fingers crossed that this happens because they really do not have a lot of desirable backup plans in place. The belief is that Wyatt will just do a match against Dean Ambrose at the pay per view if the Phenom cannot work.
