In case you missed the Survivor Series last night, Sheamus cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and captured the WWE Heavyweight Championship just shortly after Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose in the tournament finals. Well, reports have now surfaced that the decision to do that was made just a couple of hours before the pay per view started. Management was still debating the idea all day long.

As of now, WWE is planning on filling their world heavyweight championship tournament with performers who really do not stand a chance of advancing. The final four will more than likely be Roman Reigns, Alberto Del Rio, Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens. Management may be leaning towards doing a match between Ambrose and Reigns since they have been building up their on screen friendship for several months now.

Yet again, Seth Rollins manages to retain the world heavyweight championship by the skin of his teeth. WWE came up with a clever way to make it as close as possible. Dean Ambrose and Rollins both had their hands on the belt at the top of the ladder. As they came crashing down to the mat, the impact caused Ambrose to lose his grip, thus enabling Rollins to keep the belt.

Rumors are floating around that management is throwing around the idea of having Roman Reigns winning the MITB and cashing it in immediately. That is why the creative department has been emphasizing the friendship between Reigns and Ambrose so much lately.

In the main event of Payback, Seth Rollins successfully retained the world heavyweight championship by defeating Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton in a fatal four way match. Plenty of interference from Kane, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble throughout the match. A small reunion between the Shield got the audience really hyped up. In the end, Rollins used the Pedigree finishing move to finish off Orton.
