Earlier in the year, WWE had plans on doing a heel turn for Sheamus, in order to bring a little more life back into his stale character. The company even attempted the move on television, but it was botched and the majority of fans did not realize that it had taken place. In a rather interesting move, Curtis Axel worked as a baby face during a live event in Pennsylvania over the weekend. It was during a match against Alexander Rusev, where Axel explained to the audience that while they may not like him, they have something in common because they all love America. Rumors have it that this was simply a one time thing because they needed someone to work against Rusev that evening. Axel is not expected to do a full face turn anytime soon.

There is rumored to be a strong push backstage in WWE to elevate John Cena back into the top spot in the company, as some members of management are not completely sold on Daniel Bryan and his seemingly declining popularity. Bryan would not be dropping far, however, as WWE still feels that he can be a solid person to have at the number two baby face position.

"It's hard if you're quantifying raw numbers to say anyone was more popular at their zenith than Stone Cold Steve Austin. No one sold more merchandise, tickets or pay per view than Steve. The thing with Junkyard Dog was that he was the first African American number one baby face in a major territory. For black fans especially, he was such a groundbreaking force. There was a unique emotional relationship that JYD had with his audience. He gave a whole race their guy." - Jim Ross describes Junkyard Dog and his place in wrestling history

"It's just how things happen. It's been an interesting transformation, I suppose. But to be honest with you, we really haven't done much different. We just started targeting different people, I suppose. By that association, the fans just started to get with us. It's been fun. It's been a side to take for sure, but I think it's something that we're all pretty excited about." - Seth Rollins talks about the Shield doing a baby face turn in WWE

Since she is pregnant and will have a hard time traveling once the baby is born, Mickie James is loading up on appearances right now. The former WWE diva still has enough name value for independent wrestling promoters to book her in autograph sessions. She was recently at an event with Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Tommy Dreamer and the Godfather.

During a recent interview, Emma revealed that WWE has a new rule for the developmental wrestlers. They are no longer allowed to use baby oil on television because it looks really bad in high definition. While many are hoping that he eventually makes it to the main event level in WWE, there are those backstage that feel that his push needs to be drawn out, in order to prevent backlash from fans. While there are those backstage that believe that he is deserving of another title reign, the belief right now is that Samoa Joe will not be taking the belt from Brutus Magnus. TNA wants to give him a nice long reign to build up his heel heat, so that when the time is right, a baby face would get the huge victory over him.

Since he has been with the company for a little more than a year now, it does not look like Danny Burch has much of a chance of making it to the main roster anytime soon. He is basically considered a role player in WWE NXT and has not been given a televised victory in eight months.
