WWE revealed that Daniel Bryan might not be healthy enough to work his scheduled match against Wade Barrett at Extreme Rules on Sunday night. However, the plan is to protect him as much as possible in matches. That is why we will see fewer singles matches from the former world champion.

There is still a good amount of concern backstage for Daniel Bryan. Some people feel that his long term health is in jeopardy because he refuses to have the type of neck surgery that WWE would rather have him do. There are even those that are comparing the situation to what the front office had to deal with Kurt Angle several years back. A big push will be hard to come by if Bryan does not have the trust of management in his corner.

There had been legitimate concerns backstage over his health, as many were under the belief that he would walk away like Edge did to ensure his long term health.
