It did not take very long for Curt Hawkins to find work after receiving his release from WWE. He immediately hit the phones and got himself booked for several shows on the independent wrestling circuit. Hawkins might opt to remain a free agent for the time being because it does enable him to focus on his brand new wrestling school a bit more.

As many of you already know by now, several WWE stars were on the receiving end of a release today, as the company is trying to cut cost a bit. As that is happening, Mark Henry decided to celebrate his 18th year anniversary with the company by posting a message on Twitter, which did not sit well with Curt Hawkins, who was one of the performers released. Hawkins posted this response to Henry.

Another name that was chopped from WWE today was Curt Hawkins. He joins several other wrestlers who received their release from the company today. Management was not very big on Hawkins, as it has been nearly two years since he has worked a match on Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. Over the last couple of weeks, fans have noticed that Fandango has been absent from WWE television shows. That naturally lead to some rumors about his release. The dancing star is just fine. Fandango revealed that he has modified his gimmick a bit and will be making his return at the Survivor Series 2014 kickoff show. His character will also be picking up Rosa Mendes as his new valet.

Speculations are floating around right now that Brad Maddox has been given a release by WWE. Many noted that his profile was moved from the current roster to the alumni section on the website. Maddox has not been used much over the last couple of months, outside of a random appearance where he was actually allowed to work as an in ring performer. His profile has been officially moved to the alumni section on the company website. Reports are saying that his contract expired, and management felt it was financially beneficial to not renew the former world heavyweight champion, even though he was considered a marketing asset.

While that normally would not generate much interest, it does so here in this case because the previous guy that held the spot was Cody Barbierri, the allegedly racist employee that played a huge part in the controversial Alberto Del Rio release earlier in the year. Those rumors are gaining steam right now because the company is reportedly interested in hiring Adam Pearce as his replacement. Management has started to accept that the former world heavyweight champion will not be returning to work anytime soon, but they will not let him out of his contract to help another promotion out. The wrestlers backstage felt that it would be virtually impossible for some of them to receive a push when a guy like Ryder, who built up a following on his own, was not being rewarded by WWE.
