Rob Van Dam contract status

During a recent interview, Rob Van Dam revealed some rather interesting details about his business relationship with WWE. While he is not officially under contract as a performer, the former world heavyweight champion is not legally allowed to work for TNA or ROH because he has a merchandise deal. RVD states that he intends to make another return some day, but he is in no rush to do so at the moment.

Joe Koff

Ring of Honor on Destination America

There appears to be a chance that ROH might not be on Destination America for a very long period of time. The latest news from this developmental is that Joe Koff was only given a six month contract from the channel. Network executives are only doing this on a trial basis because they are unsure if Ring of Honor is good enough of a brand to draw in advertisers and sponsors. The promotion is more valuable to fans than it is to other businesses.

Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe on ROH TV

Even though he is signed to a contract with WWE now, Samoa Joe is scheduled to make a return to ROH and work a television taping. Of course, that deal has now been complicated because Ring of Honor has now been picked up by Destination America, which means that the promotion can now be seen in every state. World Wrestling Entertainment generally has a policy against performers being used on TV elsewhere.

Since he is one of the best performers on the independent wrestling circuit, many were under the belief that Jeff Jarrett was going to try to get Chris Sabin under contract once GFW started. Jeff Jarrett

Quinn Ojinnaka recruited

Generally, companies don't like when rival promotions butt into their affairs. However, ROH really did not have much of an option when Jeff Jarrett started recruiting Quinn Ojinnaka about joining GFW. After all, his contract was expiring next month, and there was a good chance that Ring of Honor was going to lose him to someone else. Despite being inexperienced still, Ojinnaka has improved enough to generate interest from WWE.

Quinn Ojinnaka

Moose to GFW

One of the wrestlers announced by GFW earlier today was Moose. He will be an official member of the roster. The former NFL star has been developing his trade in ROH for the past year. That has led to questions from the internet wrestling community about the status of his contract with his current employer. The belief is that Quinn Ojinnaka signed a one year deal with Ring of Honor, so he will more than likely work non televised events until it expires next month.

While it has not been officially confirmed, Sonjay Dutt is expected to be one of the members of the GFW roster. He is already working for the company in the front office. It is being said that Global Force Wrestling is planning approximately 40 shows before the end of the year.

Briscoes

Briscoes done with WWE

After several attempts at trying to get a contract with WWE, the Briscoes are said to be done with the promotion. They have come to accept that the company simply does not value them at the level that the brothers believe themselves to be. Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe are content with remaining in ROH for the rest of their careers. The former is receiving more backstage power, so the latter should have a good amount of job security.
