In the second match of Fast Lane, Goldust was able to get the pin fall victory over his brother Cody Rhodes, whose loss was protected because it seemed that the three count came out of nowhere. WWE was hoping for a better reaction from the audience, but the story hasn't been told well enough to get the crowd to invest themselves. In a backstage segment after the match, Stardust assaulted his older brother in front of Dusty Rhodes.
