For those of you that have not been attending live events lately, WWE is routinely running the angle where the Intercontinental Championship keeps getting stolen by the performers who will compete for the belt in a ladder match at Wrestlemania. Cody Rhodes worked a match against Goldust in Erie on Saturday. While that was going on, Dolph Ziggler ran out from the backstage area and stole the title. Story will continue on Monday Night Raw.

It looks like the big rematch between the brothers might not happen at Wrestlemania after all. WWE changed up the script again, and it looks like Cody Rhodes will be in the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship instead. Goldust has yet to be added, but there is a good chance that he will be because he teased a title chase on social media earlier in the week. In the second match of Fast Lane, Goldust was able to get the pin fall victory over his brother Cody Rhodes, whose loss was protected because it seemed that the three count came out of nowhere. WWE was hoping for a better reaction from the audience, but the story hasn't been told well enough to get the crowd to invest themselves. In a backstage segment after the match, Stardust assaulted his older brother in front of Dusty Rhodes.

Even though the actual heel turn only took place on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE has already announced that Cody Rhodes and Goldust will be wrestling one another at Fast Lane this upcoming Sunday. Usually, the creative department would have a couple of confrontations in between the turn and the actual match being announced. Even though the story has been brewing, management ended up rushing things in the end.
