An interesting idea is being tossed around right now, and if implemented, it could shatter pay per view records for UFC. CM Punk is already in the promotion and training for his first fight. Brock Lesnar is finishing off his contract with WWE in a couple of weeks and has eyes on a return to mixed martial arts. If the promotion were to put the debut fight for Punk and the return fight for Lesnar on the same card, that would draw tremendous interest.

Inside MMA decided to interview Steve Austin this week, and they prodded him into answering questions about his long rumored return to WWE. The former world heavyweight champion said that he would not be opposed to the idea, and he listed CM Punk as someone that would make an ideal opponent for him. Austin put over Punk by stating that he was one of the best at ring psychology. He feels a match between the two would do good money.

During a recent interview, he was asked if he still thinks about a potential return. The former WWE champion sternly stated that he does not even think about making a comeback at all. Unlike her husband, CM Punk, she does not want to walk away from the deal because she wants the door left open for a potential return. Prior to the big UFC announcement, CM Punk was being courted by another promotion. He had received a call from Ring of Honor, his former home, to see if he was interested in making a return. The former world heavyweight champion was not interested in being a full time professional wrestler at this point, so he declined. ROH reportedly attempted to get him to make a couple of appearances, but he declined that invitation as well.
