During a recent interview, Bobby Lashley stated that a lot of professional wrestling fans are going to be mad when CM Punk makes his UFC debut and actually wins the fight. A lot of WWE fans are still upset with Punk for leaving, so they are being petty by rooting against him doing well in MMA. Lashley is well aware of this, so he is not afraid to speak out.

Count Randy Orton as one of the people in WWE that are rooting for CM Punk to do well in UFC. He has said to those around him that if Punk does well in MMA, then it gives professional wrestlers some credibility as athletes. Orton feels that people underestimate their abilities because the outcome of matches are scripted and predetermined. Several other wrestlers share the same opinion and will be watching his debut match intently.

Inside MMA decided to interview Steve Austin this week, and they prodded him into answering questions about his long rumored return to WWE. The former world heavyweight champion said that he would not be opposed to the idea, and he listed CM Punk as someone that would make an ideal opponent for him. Austin put over Punk by stating that he was one of the best at ring psychology. He feels a match between the two would do good money.

While they might have been portrayed enemies inside of a professional wrestling ring by WWE, the relationship between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar is much more cordial outside of it. During a recent interview, Punk revealed that Lesnar contacted him when he announced that he had signed a contract to fight for UFC. Lesnar offered to help Punk in anyway he can. The belief is that Lesnar will still be heading back to the world of MMA in a couple of months.

Punk stated that it did bug him when part time wrestlers would come back to WWE and take spots from the full time guys. He also stated that he is aware that he is doing the same thing to MMA fighters. However, Punk feels that he is providing opportunities for opponents to make a good amount of money.

During an interview with MMA Junkie earlier today, CM Punk was asked which current WWE star would have the best chance at transitioning from a career in professional wrestling to a career in mixed martial arts. His response was Daniel Bryan. Punk stated that Bryan was the only guy in the company that regularly trains in kickboxing and Brazillian jiu-jitsu. Bryan has never publicly expressed serious interest in making the transition over to UFC.

Before dedicating himself completely to MMA training, CM Punk decided to take a little trip with his wife, AJ Lee, down to Puerto Rico to visit her family. The couple was spotted by a fan, and the two of them actually took the time to take some pictures, which was then posted to a social media website. The belief is that Punk will start traveling up to Milwaukee soon to train with Roufusports. His UFC debut is still expected to take place in 2015.

When CM Punk announced that he was signing a contract with UFC, many immediately wondered which training camp he would choose, in order to get him ready for his first professional MMA fight. Reports have surfaced that he has chosen Roufusport, a Milwaukee based camp that is just 90 minutes away from his hometown of Chicago. Roufusport is well known for their training in strikes, but they also have Olympic level wrestling coaches as well.
