In order to prevent as many refunds as possible, WWE has asked Madison Square Garden to remove all advertisement featuring CM Punk, even though the live event is not taking place until March. The fear is that fans will ask for their money back since he will no longer be in attendance.
Since CM Punk has been pulled from all of the upcoming live events, WWE needed a new main event match, as he was originally planned to headline the shows with Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Now, Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan have been moved into the top spot.
At a live event in December, CM Punk apologized to fans for not wrestling there the previous year because he was out with a knee injury. That prompted some fans to boo him, so he responded by saying that their opinions don't really matter to him.
