When asked about CM Punk, Bobby Lashley had some interesting things to say. First and foremost, Lashley is quite supportive of Punk in his quest to fight in UFC. However, Lashley stated that he wished Punk had done a match outside of the promotion first. The belief is that Punk opted to sign immediately with Dana White because an outside loss would reduce his value to the promotion tremendously. A contract might not have been offered.

An interesting idea is being tossed around right now, and if implemented, it could shatter pay per view records for UFC. CM Punk is already in the promotion and training for his first fight. Brock Lesnar is finishing off his contract with WWE in a couple of weeks and has eyes on a return to mixed martial arts. If the promotion were to put the debut fight for Punk and the return fight for Lesnar on the same card, that would draw tremendous interest.

Expect the hate towards CM Punk to grow a little bit this week, as several UFC fighters were released from their contract with the promotion. The company traditionally goes through the roster and eliminates guys that they feel are not useful at the moment. A lot of fans and some of the fighters will be resentful towards Punk for being given one of the spots despite having a lot less experience. Dana White signed Punk because he can draw in fans.

Based on a vague exchange between the two on social media, a lot of fans are under the belief that Samoa Joe and CM Punk are going to be working a wrestling match against one another in the near future. They are no longer with TNA and WWE respectively. However, the odds of that happening are quite slim. Punk is under contract with UFC, and it is highly unlikely that Dana White would allow one of his fighters to be involved in a wrestling match.

While they might have been portrayed enemies inside of a professional wrestling ring by WWE, the relationship between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar is much more cordial outside of it. During a recent interview, Punk revealed that Lesnar contacted him when he announced that he had signed a contract to fight for UFC. Lesnar offered to help Punk in anyway he can. The belief is that Lesnar will still be heading back to the world of MMA in a couple of months.

Long before Mike Bennett and AJ Lee came into their lives respectively, Maria Kanellis and CM Punk were an item. During a recent interview, the former was asked about the latter leaving WWE and signing a contract with UFC. She defended her former boyfriend by stating that his body was beat up quite a bit because he was on the road more than a lot of the other stars. Maria also stated that Punk was not treated as well as some of the other top stars.

When CM Punk announced that he had signed a contract with UFC, neither side was able to provide a specific date for his debut match. Rumors are now heating up that it could be on July 25, when the promotion does a card in Chicago, which happens to be the hometown of Punk. There, he would more than likely receive a warm ovation from the live audience. Plus, since it will be aired for free on Fox, that should draw in a ton of wrestling fans.

A lot of wrestling fans have been speculating on the potential departure of AJ Lee from WWE. However, it should be noted that she is still under contract with the company. Unlike her husband, CM Punk, she does not want to walk away from the deal because she wants the door left open for a potential return. AJ is said to still be quite passionate about being a wrestler, so a comeback after an extended break remains a very big possibility.

In another sign that the two sides are drifting apart further and further, WWE has ordered a comic book production company called Paper Cutz to remove CM Punk from any upcoming material produced for the company. Reports are stating that Punk has full rights to his name and usage, so the move had to be done. If that were the case, then this is a huge victory for the performers, as many of them have had to forfeit their rights, in order to get a contract.

After losing public battles to CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio, WWE has decided to become a bit stricter with the wording of their contract. Management wants to ensure that the performers are unable to make a living after they leave the company, so there is now reportedly a new clause that prevents them from working in professional wrestling or UFC for an entire year if they are fired from WWE for disciplinary reasons. They also lose royalties as well.
