Another interesting backstage story in WWE has been told by Court Bauer, a former writer for the company. He stated that management purposely made it where CM Punk could never sell more merchandise than John Cena. Whenever the number for Punk merchandise would rise, the company would then produce more products for Cena. They also shipped out a lot more Cena merchandise to the live events to make sure Punk did not beat him.

Reports have surfaced that AJ Lee is not a very popular person backstage in WWE nowadays. The feeling is that she is essentially doing whatever she wants because she knows that the company needs her more than she needs them. AJ is said to be more than willing to walk away from the business. Some of the backstage heat towards the former divas champion also stems from the resentment that many in the company have towards CM Punk.
