The Royal Rumble is going to be in Pittsburgh this upcoming Sunday, and so will Chris Jericho, who happens to be working the same auto show that Sheamus is scheduled for. That has led to speculations and rumors that Jericho will be making his return to WWE this weekend.
Aside from ruining an on screen segment with Chris Jericho, another issue between Roddy Piper and WWE was the fact that the company wanted to restrict his ability to make appearances on other shows, which Piper refused to agree to since it might hurt his son's MMA career.
While the entertainment company and the performer have yet to make an announcement or confirmation, the Winnipeg Sun is reporting that Chris Jericho will be returning to WWE on March 7, 2014, during a live event held at the MTS Centre.
With so many rumors swirling about his potential return at the Royal Rumble, Chris Jericho took to Twitter to inform the fans that he is not returning to WWE any time soon. He did not close the door on a potential return down the line, though.
In a move that seems almost too petty to believe, it has now been confirmed that the official WWE account on Twitter is no longer following CM Punk after he walked out before Monday Night Raw this week. The decision could have been made by someone in the marketing or technology department as opposed to Vince McMahon or Triple H.
WWE has been pushing the wrestlers to use Twitter more often, especially on weekends, in order to get the fans talking more about the performers and company. The belief is that management has noticed how much of a buzz Ryback has been able to create through the social media website.
