Rusev injured at Smackdown

A big change might be needed for the Intercontinental Championship match at Elimination Chamber, as news has now leaked that Rusev was injured during the Smackdown taping on Tuesday. He worked a match against Ryback. The Bulgaria born wrestler was spotted in a wheelchair, while wearing a cast on his right leg and holding crutches. WWE has not made an official announcement in regards to the situation yet.

Miz

Elimination Chamber divas match

To fill out the pay per view even more, WWE has decided to do a triple threat match for the Divas Championship at Elimination Chamber instead of building it up for Money in the Bank. Nikki Bella will be defending her title against both Naomi and Paige, who recently made her television return after taking some time off to film a movie with Miz. Since plans were changed so rapidly, there is no word yet on who will be walking out with the belt that night.

Bella Twins

Bellas vs Naomi and Tamina

In a match that failed to generate much of a reaction from the audience, Naomi and Tamina Snuka managed to get the win during a tag team match against the Bella Twins. The move was a bit predictable because the Divas Championship was not on the line. WWE is setting up an eventual title match, so the audience got a sense that this was simply a transitional match. That is why the girls were unable to get to connect with the audience.

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins keeping belt

While the company has tried their best to make us believe that a title change can take place at the pay per view, Seth Rollins is more than likely going to be walking away with the WWE Heavyweight Championship once Payback is over. Management is quite pleased with the reaction that he has been receiving from the audience. They are also glad that some members of the internet wrestling community are falling for the cowardly heel routine.

Sheamus winning IC title

Initially, WWE had planned on giving Sheamus a big heel push so that he could challenge Roman Reigns for the world heavyweight championship. However, those plans were scrapped, and we now have a heel champion in Seth Rollins. The front office knew that there was only so much they could push the Celtic Warrior before he hit the ceiling. Well, rumors are floating around now that they are going to give him the Intercontinental Championship to work with.

WWE edits curb stomp

For those of you that are still in denial about WWE banning the curb stomp finishing move, the company has outed themselves once again. This time, they have edited the big moment in the main event where Seth Rollins uses that move on Roman Reigns to win the world heavyweight championship. The clip shows him getting ready for the move, but then the front office edited the scene and replaced it with a shot of the live audience instead.

John Cena

WWE live event changes

Fans attending WWE live events this upcoming weekend might be in for a bit of disappointment if they were looking forward to see John Cena and Randy Orton. The two of them have been pulled from the road. Management is going to try to supplement the show by having Seth Rollins defending the heavyweight championship against Roman Reigns on one tour. The other will be headlined by Rusev, Dean Ambrose and Ryback.

Cena vs Rusev at Payback

The first match for Payback has been announced, and it will be a rematch for the United States Heavyweight Championship. John Cena and Rusev will be engaging in the final chapter of their feud, which was designed to make the latter look like a credible top level performer. Fittingly, it will be an I Quit match. Rumors are floating around that WWE will further the tension by having Lana be the one to wave the white flag for client.
