During a recent podcast interview with Steve Austin, Chael Sonnen revealed some rather interesting things about Jeff Jarrett and his ownership stake in TNA, which a lot of fans assume has been vanquished completely. Sonnen stated that Jarrett still owns more than 11% of the company. It is a sizable amount but not enough to where he can go in and control the board of directors or anything.

An incident took place at the latest GFW television taping, and it has left many to wonder if it was scripted or not. Phil Baroni jumped over the barrier and headed towards the ring. Security had to stop the former UFC star. Apparently, he has some beef with Chael Sonnen, who is a commentator for the promotion. There were reports earlier in the year that Global Force Wrestling was setting up a match between the two of them.

Shortly after Roddy Piper passed away, Chael Sonnen told the public that the legendary performer had planned on passing off his famous Piper's Pit interview show to the former UFC star. When confronted by someone that worked for Piper, Sonnen confessed that what he said was not actually true. He simply meant to say that he was going to be doing his own interview show for GFW.

The former UFC star was there to meet up with Michael Cole for some reason. A match like this would easily generate interest from the mainstream media, especially all the major sports outlet. Baroni has been training at a wrestling school owned by D-Lo Brown.

In a rather interesting development, Chael Sonnen, who is currently the lead commentator for GFW, is set to meet with Michael Cole when WWE does a Smackdown taping in Portland on August 11. There are talks that Sonnen has long been interested in joining the promotion and working as an on screen talent. He definitely has the passion and the talent for the job.

Since they were unable to come to an agreement with the big catch at this moment, GFW has decided to think outside of the box to find themselves a commentator for the upcoming television taping in Las Vegas. Cyrus Fees will be joining Chael Sonnen. His background as an announcer is in MMA, so it will be quite interesting to see how he does in professional wrestling.
