In 2000, James Storm signed a developmental contract with WCW. He mostly worked as an enhancement wrestler, mainly being displayed on Worldwide and Saturday Night instead of Nitro and Thunder. When WWE purchased the company, Storm was not picked up, so he returned to the independent wrestling circuit before eventually signing with TNA.
