There was a back and forth backstage in NXT when it came to deciding who would win the tournament to wrestle at Wrestlemania. In the end, though, the front office decided to go with the business decision. Since they wanted to draw in fans from Japan, where WWE will be touring this summer, Hideo Itami was chosen. Management even further capitalized on the situation by having Japanese legend Tatsumi Fujinami endorsing Itami in the ring.

Rey Mysterio retiring

When he initially left WWE, Rey Mysterio was hoping to spend a couple of more years in the business. However, there are now talks that he is on the verge of retirement after the tragic accident that cost the life of Perro Aguayo in the ring. Mysterio is said to be filled with huge amount of grief and guilt even though he knows that it was not on purpose. The thought of being back in the ring might be too much for him at this point in time.

WWE inducting Fujinami

First and foremost, Tatsumi Fujinami is one of those guys that really deserve to be inducted into any and every wrestling hall of fame on the planet. However, there is some business involved to WWE choosing to honor him at Wrestlemania. The front office wanted to lure fans in Japan to watch the pay per view. They would love to observe one of their own being celebrated overseas. World Wrestling Entertainment is doing two shows in Tokyo in July.

Booker T rehabilitation

Aside from being a very popular performer, one of the biggest reasons why WWE likes having Booker T around is because of his life story. As many of you already know, the former world heavyweight champion was a troubled youth. However, he managed to turn things around with his life and found success, both as a wrestler and as a businessman. It is great for public relations because they can tout that they give second chances.

Jimmy Jacobs to WWE

When word initially broke out that Jimmy Jacobs was signing with WWE, the belief was that he would be doing so as an in ring performer. That apparently is not the case at all. Reports have now surfaced that Jacobs will be joining the creative department in an unannounced role. The former ROH star has long been regarded within the industry as someone that gets the business and has a lot of creativity, so the move makes a lot of sense.

Everyone already knows about the argument that Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar recently had while discussing business backstage at Monday Night Raw. That has caused a bit of headache for management. Sting, on the other hand, is said to be a model employee. He understands the contract that he signed with WWE, and he is more than content to fulfill his end of the bargain before fading away permanently from professional wrestling.

Elijah Burke return

The next series of Impact Wrestling episodes being taped in May should be interesting ones. There are talks that Elijah Burke could be making his return to TNA during that point in time. He even teased it publicly on social media. Burke left the company more than two years ago and has remained active on the independent wrestling circuit. Despite being one of the best talkers in the business, WWE showed no interest in bringing him back on board.

Rey Mysterio name change

While many people might not even notice it, Rey Mysterio will bringing back the "Jr" part to his in ring name. The reason for that is because he wants to avoid getting into a legal issue with WWE, who reportedly still own the rights to the moniker. Konnan has been functioning as his business manager, and he has been informing promoters to use the modified name in their advertising material to avoid causing any headaches.

Wyatt beating Undertaker

While the majority of fans are hoping that Undertaker gets the win at Wrestlemania, there are those backstage in WWE that feel that it would be best for business if Bray Wyatt were to pick up the much needed victory, one that would give him enough momentum to head back into a main event scene that is set to feature a baby face champion in Roman Reigns. A loss for the Phenom would build anticipation for another return next year.
