WWE Studios has secured the rights to the sequel and will begin production soon. The company has tabbed Santino Marella, a comedic performer on Monday Night Raw, as a lead character.
While it has been confirmed that he has signed a two year deal with the company, it now appears that Batista might not be around WWE for much of that time period. Aside from needing to promote Guardians of the Galaxy this fall, he will also now need time away to film the sequel to the movie, which was just announced this week.
One of the reasons why Brutus Magnus was made the TNA champion was public relations, and it looks like the move is already paying off. Members of Parliament invited Dixie Carter and Magnus to take a private tour while they were in Europe doing some live events and Impact Wrestling.
It appears that the story line and character development for Brutus Magnus is working, as fans have been booing him during the European tour. Many backstage were expecting him to receive cheers like Rockstar Spud has been receiving, but they're pleasantly surprised by the crowd reaction.
Officials backstage in TNA are said to be quite impressed with Brutus Magnus and how well he has taken to his new role as the world champion. The belief is that his title reign should last for quite a period of time as long as his performances can be maintained.
After weeks of teasing the move, the James Storm heel turn has finally happened. Impact Wrestling is being taped right now, and the long time TNA star turned on Gunner as he was challenging Brutus Magnus for the world heavyweight championship.
Wrestle-1, the new promotion founded by the Great Muta, is about to get an influx of talent from TNA for an upcoming live event in March. Austin Aries, Abyss, Bobby Roode, Brutus Magnus, Christopher Daniels, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, Frankie Kazarian, Gail Kim, Madison Rayne and Samoa Joe have been confirmed for the trip.
While management has given up on the character, WWE will be keeping Sin Cara around because he is featured in the upcoming Scooby Doo movie. Oficials have no plan on bringing the original performer back, so Hunico will have the role until after the movie has been released.
Impact Wrestling drew in one of the highest ratings that the show has seen in a couple of years this week. The belief is that WWE fans tuned in this week to see what would happen during the match between Sting and Brutus Magnus, as many are hoping that the legendary performer will end up at Wrestlemania 30 this year.

Another person that TNA wants to push to the main event scene soon is Gunner. Many backstage feel that he can be elevated enough to be viewed as a worthy challenger for Brutus Magnus and the world title. The success of his story line with James Storm should help dictate that.
Angelina Love is doing a movie called Night Cries, which apparently is being taped way north of Toronto. Interestingly enough, she is playing a character named Angel, which is the real life first name of the former TNA Knockouts Champion.
Since TNA wants Brutus Magnus to have a solid run as the heavyweight champion, the creative department will be lining up some challengers, so he can work memorable feuds. Aside from Samoa Joe, another candidate being discussed is James Storm, who has routinely gotten the best reactions from the live audiences.
Batista and Brooke Hogan worked on a comedy thriller movie together last year called LA Slasher. It was initially to be released in 2013, but delayed until 2014. It now appears that the movie may be in permanent limbo, as no release date has been announced yet.
While WWE officials are still holding out hope, there does not appear to be much of a chance of the Rock working Wrestlemania 30 this year. Aside from being scheduled to go overseas to film a big movie, Dwayne Johnson simply has not expressed much interest in a return.
While a lot of fans are clamoring for him to return to WWE, John Morrison is finding himself more and more busy in Hollywood, as the former ECW champion is shooting a new movie next week. He also has five films in post production at the moment.
Yahoo! Movies has produced a list of 15 stars that are ready to break out this year, and one of the names on there is none other than Batista. The WWE star is being praised for his work as Dax the Destroyer on the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
The Rock recently revealed that he had a meeting with the CEO of Warner Bros. The main topic of discussion was figuring out a way to get the former WWE star on board to perhaps do a DC Comics movie in 2014. His star power would help them compete with Marvel.
Now that Brutus Magnus is the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion, it looks like Samoa Joe will be one of the first wrestlers to challenge him. The two of them have been booked for matches at live events this upcoming weekend.
TNA sent out a press release, letting the world know that Brutus Magnus was the first British born world champion in a major American wrestling organization in over a century. The company also touted how the victory was seen in 120 countries.
TNA held a fan party in the United Kingdom this week, so they sent Brutus Magnus, their new world heavyweight champion, to attend the event. British wrestler Rockstar Spud and Jeremy Borash were also in attendance as well.
