JTG has surprised a lot of people backstage by still being on the WWE payroll despite not being utilized much. His last appearance on Monday Night Raw was back in December of 2012, where he lost to Brodus Clay. He appeared on television just seven times in 2013.
Brodus Clay vowed to earn himself a spot on the main Wrestlemania 30 card this year, and he even managed to convince WWE officials to turn him heel and give him a character makeover. However, as of right now, it does not appear that he will be picking up enough momentum to earn that coveted spot.
"There are so many Divas who have come and gone who have left their mark in WWE: Ivory, Jazz, Lita, etc. … Ric Flair says, "To be the man, you gotta beat the man," so if I had to choose one, it'd be the Diva who most people would consider the greatest Diva of all time, Trish Stratus. The only reason I'd choose her is because I know in my heart that I can put her down."
"I'm just grateful for the moments I got to spend with her. Both Moolah and Mae were an important part of my life in WWE, especially in my first couple years in the company as they were my biggest cheerleaders. They were always encouraging me and telling me they liked how I didn't 'wrestle like a girl'. She was an inspiration to me and so many of the girls in the locker room. I used to tell her 'Mae, I want to be just like you when I grow up'. I'm going to miss her a lot."
Now that he has split from Tensai and is working as a heel, Brodus Clay is expected to get a bit of a makeover. A new look has been confirmed for the big guy, and there's talks that a new theme song could possibly be in the works as well.
"Hope the Brodus Clay creative direction change works. Good guy, truly a fan of the business and who has the tools, or so I feel, to be a "monster heel. Brodus was one of my favorite guys to brainstorm with back in the FCW days."
The current plan in WWE is to have Naomi and Cameron leaving Brodus Clay, who has now turned heel, and Tensai to join Xavier Woods and R Truth. The segment on Monday Night Raw this week was designed to further that story line.
Initially, the feud was designed to give the spotlight to newcomer Xavier Woods, but it now appears that WWE has shifted the attentiont to Brodus Clay and his impending heel turn instead. That's why they went with that segment on TLC last night.
Trish Stratus has signed a new deal with the Treadmill Factory, where the former WWE diva will see many of her fitness and yoga products being placed in a couple of their stores across Canada and on their official website.
After Tensai, Naomi and Cameron abandoned him during his match, Brodus Clay, who exhibited heel tendencies throughout the match at TLC, was defeated via pin fall by R Truth, who nailed his opponent with a kick to the face.
The top candidates to work the kickoff match at the TLC pay per view right now are Xavier Woods, R Truth, Brodus Clay and Tensai. There's also a chance that WWE could opt to do a singles match between Woods and Clay as well.
Initially, WWE had plans on turning Brodus Clay, Tensai, Naomi and Cameron all into heels, but with Total Divas being signed for another season, executives from E! reportedly asked the company to keep the Funkadactyls as faces.
While many fans are under the impression that it is a permanent thing, WWE might not be doing a permanent heel turn with Brodus Clay. The belief is that this is just to give Xavier Woods something to work with.
WWE star Brodus Clay revealed on Twitter that he has lost some more weight and is now down to 353 pounds.
Trish Stratus has enlisted the help of former WWE riva, Lita, to help promote her online store during Black Friday.
Many within WWE are concerned about the status of Brodus Clay after the company had Xavier Woods doing his entrance with his Naomi and Cameron on Monday Night Raw this week.
Before he became a professional wrestler, Brodus Clay worked as a bodyguard. His most well known client was rapper Snoop Dogg.
Even though it does not look good right now, Brodus Clay is still pushing to get himself a spot at Wrestlemania 30.
