On Monday Night Raw, we saw Brock Lesnar demolishing Michael Cole with his F5 finishing move. In the story line, WWE is stating that the commentator suffered a broken neck. That has drawn some heat from others in the industry. Many are pointing out that Perro Aguayo recently died because of a similar injury. They feel that it was a bit insensitive of the creative department to do something like that so soon.

To further sell the kayfabe injury suffered by Michael Cole at the hands of Brock Lesnar during Monday Night Raw, WWE has decided to keep the announcer off of the commentating table for the next episode of Smackdown. The on air explanation is that he needs surgery. Tom Phillips is replacing him and will join Jerry Lawler and Byron Saxton at the booth. No confirmation yet, but the belief is that Cole will be back for Monday Night Raw.

In one of the best matches in the history of the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar successfully retained the WWE Heavyweight Championship by pinning Seth Rollins after an F5. John Cena had been knocked out by a beautifully and masterfully executed Phoenix Splash from Rollins. Lesnar was made to look especially strong in the match because he came back to win after coming close to being stretched out because of a story line rib injury.

During recent interviews to promote his return to WWE from a serious neck injury, Daniel Bryan has been openly discussing the dream match that he hopes will take place at Wrestlemania. The former world heavyweight champion stated that he would love to work a match against Brock Lesnar. He also stated that his desire is to win the Royal Rumble and challenge for the heavyweight championship at the biggest wrestling pay per view of the year.

While there are still a couple of months left on his current contract, WWE officials are said to be working with the notion that Brock Lesnar will be walking away once again from professional wrestling when April rolls around. The belief is that he will be heading back to UFC because he still has some unfinished business to take care of. Lesnar did not like being forced to walk away from the sport because of a serious life threatening injury.
