When asked about a potential return to WWE, Brad Maddox stated that he was not sure if the door had been closed on him forever. He stated that he was not told that they would try to bring him back into the company down the line. Apparently, management has done that for a couple of people that they have given a release to. Maddox also stated that he did not get to speak to Vince McMahon about the release.

Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Brad Maddox had been released by WWE because of comments that he made towards fans in Indianapolis during a dark match on Monday Night Raw. The 31 year old did not take long to decide on what he wants to do with his career next. A return to the independent wrestling circuit was announced. Maddox also revealed that he will be going by Mad Braddox from now on.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Brad Maddox had been released from his contract with WWE. Some speculation floated around as to the details surrounding the departure. Some thought that Maddox asked for his release so that he can work elsewhere. However, reports have now surfaced that the reason behind the firing is because Maddox called the Indianapolis audience, "cocky pricks", during a dark match promo.

Since he was a natural talker, as evident by the fact that he was once utilized as the on screen general manager of Monday Night Raw, WWE kept Brad Maddox around for as long as they could to see if they could find something that will work for him. Apparently, that quest has been canceled. Maddox has been given his release from his contract. He is now free to work on the independent wrestling circuit.

There are rumors floating around right now that Brad Maddox dressed up as CM Punk during a live event in Las Vegas over the weekend. However, it was simply a case of fans forgetting who Maddox was and believing that it was actually Punk inside of a WWE ring again. A couple of chants got started, and that tricked others into believing it as well.

Once the decision was made by WWE to keep Michael Cole off of Monday Night Raw, there was a bit of a debate on how to replace him. Some wanted just JBL and Booker T to man the booth, but neither guy is a play by play commentator. There was a little bit of support for Brad Maddox to take the role, as he was backstage, but the front office ultimately decided to give Byron Saxton another chance to prove himself.

At a live event in Milwaukee over the weekend, Brad Maddox made his return to WWE. Often times, management likes to test things out at these events to gauge what the audience reaction would be before doing it on Monday Night Raw or Smackdown. Based on the lackluster reaction and the poor quality of the match, the front office has much to work on before doing the Maddox return on television.
