Booker T

Booker T comments removed

While talking about the abilities of Adrian Neville, JBL stated that Owen Hart was a high flying but not anything like this. Innocently, Booker T added to that by stating that Hart did not defy gravity, which is a term used frequently for Neville. That drew the ire of fans, who immediate took to social media to bash Booker, who ended up issuing an apology. WWE decided to take it a step further by removing the comments on the replay of Monday Night Raw.

Byron Saxton replaces Michael Cole

Once the decision was made by WWE to keep Michael Cole off of Monday Night Raw, there was a bit of a debate on how to replace him. Some wanted just JBL and Booker T to man the booth, but neither guy is a play by play commentator. There was a little bit of support for Brad Maddox to take the role, as he was backstage, but the front office ultimately decided to give Byron Saxton another chance to prove himself.

HHH fires Booker T

Some rumors popped up recently that Triple H went off the script when he worked an interview segment with Booker T on Monday Night Raw. Some are saying that the firing angle was something that was impromptu and spontaneous. Those rumors are false. WWE had the entire thing scripted out from the beginning. Otherwise, Booker might not have been able to react that well in a pinch. HHH was said to be one that came up with the idea.

Jerry Lawler

Jerry Lawler removed

In a surprising bit of news, Jerry Lawler has now been permanently removed as the color commentator of Monday Night Raw. Many had been under the impression that his absence was temporary and that he would return once he recovered from his stay at the hospital. However, WWE opted to make the switch to Booker T a permanent one. Lawler will still be working for the company, but as a commentator on Smackdown.

JBL

Jerry Lawler replaced

As many of you already know by now, Jerry Lawler has been laid up in a hospital for the past week because of diverticulitis, the same condition that caused Brock Lesnar to retire prematurely from UFC. While he is getting better, it is not enough to get him back to work on Monday Night Raw this week, so WWE has decided to replace him with a fan favorite at the commentating table tonight. Booker T will join JBL and Michael Cole instead.
