In approximately two years, TNA has reduced the amount of contracted performers by nearly half, going from 60 to 33 during that stretch of time. Dixie Carter and company have been forced to allow performers to leave whenever their contracts expire because they need to become fiscally responsible if they wish to remain in business. Rumor has it that only Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Bully Ray, Samoa Joe, Abyss, James Storm, Bobby Roode and Mr Anderson have big salaries.

"It's unfortunate. At the end of the day this is a business, not everybody is going to be happy and people go their separate ways. It's the wrestling business and we're seen it happen a million times. Unfortunately, AJ Styles was a TNA original and was the face of our company for a very long time. That departure bothers me the most. I had a great relationship with AJ, we were friends, we were part of Fortune together, and we had some great matches. I understand where AJ's coming from, it's all business, and I wish him nothing but the best. Sting was a great guy to have in our locker room. He was a veteran leader. A guy that you can go and talk to, a guy who I had some memorable matches, and a guy who mentored me a lot and taught me a lot in the ring. He's an icon; his name will live forever in this business. And I wish him nothing but the best of luck. At the end of the day this is a business and you've got to do what you can for yourself." - Bobby Roode talks about people leaving TNA

In what could be a sign of things to come, Masakatsu Funaki challenged Kurt Angle after defeating Bobby Roode at the Wrestle-1 Outbreak pay per view. Great Muta and Dixie Carter have a business relationship now, and there are plans in the works for Muta to send some of his performers to work for TNA later on this year. Funaki might be among the group to do so.

"It's tough, even Hulk Hogan was a tough loss to accept. Sting has been the cornerstone of the company, Jarrett founded the company and I think he might be the best heel in the business, and AJ Styles is just the best athlete I've ever been in the ring with. From three different perspectives it is a tough pill to swallow because they are three of the best. When you don't have them in the company you hope to god that the young talent steps up, guys like Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, and James Storm seem to be stepping up. Will they replace Sting? You can't replace Sting, will they replace AJ? Probably not, AJ is irreplaceable, but will they become their own characters and do really well, yes they will do phenomenally well and it's not about replacing anymore, it's about making new stars."

Dixie Carter
While rumors of their demise are swirling rapidly around the promotion, TNA has opted to continue with business. Dixie Carter has announced that the company has signed Chris Melendez to a multiple year contract. The Purple Heart award recipient only has one leg because of injuries suffered while serving the country in Afghanistan. The move should bring about some positive press for TNA.
July 30, 2014
Dixie Carter
While a lot of fans bashed TNA for paying big bucks to Hulk Hogan over the years, his true value is coming out as Dixie Carter is having some trouble trying to secure a new television deal for Impact Wrestling. Hogan's name value helped open a lot of doors in business for the company, and his absence has made it a bit harder to sell networks on their product.

Bray Wyatt
Rumors are floating around right now that Chris Jericho is done with WWE after he finishes up his feud with Bray Wyatt. July 28, 2014
Steve Austin
Earlier in the month, Steve Austin made a comment about WWE being too scripted for his taste. While those comments would surely bring backstage heat on one of their mid card performers, it is being said that there is absolutely no heat towards Austin, as management knows that they might need him for business down the line.

CM Punk
Showing that some friendships extend beyond the business, Undertaker and his wife Michelle McCool recently attended a comedy show featuring Mick Foley. The longtime WWE couple wanted to show support for their old friend. The two of them even went backstage to catch up with Foley for a bit. Several wrestlers in the industry, including CM Punk recently, have made the effort to go watch Foley tell jokes.

Vince McMahon
When it comes to public relations, Vince McMahon is one of the best in the business. Knowing that investors have their eyes closely on the WWE Network, the CEO has made sure that the numbers are kept a secret. It is being reported that even some of the top level executives are being kept in the dark about how well the project is doing.

Bret Hart
During a recent podcast interview between Steve Austin and Vince Russo, the topic of the Montreal Screwjob came up. Russo gave specific details about what went down between Vince McMahon, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. Austin then finished the discussion by stating that he had no prior knowledge of the incident going down, but that he thinks the decision by McMahon and Russo was the right one. The business had to be protected from Hart and Eric Bischoff.
July 3, 2014
CM Punk
While the general consensus in professional wrestling is that the world heavyweight champion plays a bit part in the overall success of the company, a recent article from Forbes attempts to dispute that by looking at the financial ramifications during the title reigns of CM Punk, John Cena and Randy Orton. Since the numbers are all over the place, the author concluded that the heavyweight champion does not have much of an effect on the business end of WWE.
July 2, 2014
Chris Jericho
While a lot of fans are under the impression that CM Punk left WWE because of a recent incident or two, Paul Heyman revealed during an interview with Chris Jericho that Punk had been unhappy with the company for well over a year. That unhappiness had sapped him of his passion for the business. Heyman also stated that Punk did not want to be one of those people who only stuck around for the money.
June 27, 2014
Brock Lesnar
Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Michelle McCool had visited the WWE Performance Center to help train some of the developmental divas. That led to speculations that Undertaker was there as well. Contrary to the rumors, he was not there. The legendary performer has largely stayed away from the business since his match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 30.
June 26, 2014
Curt Hawkins
JTG and Shad Gaspard are not the only former WWE tag team doing a reunion. Word going around is that Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks are looking into doing a tour of the independent wrestling circuit together. Reks has not been all that active since leaving WWE to start his own business. The two of them should have enough name value to pick up bookings.
June 26, 2014
Josh Mathews
Since he was very popular with his peers backstage, there have been many wondering why WWE released Josh Mathews yesterday. It turns out that it was simply a business decision, as the company needed to trim their budget further. To management, Mathews was at the bottom of the list when it comes to announcers, commentators and interviewers. WWE is expected to continue with the releases to cut cost even further.
June 26, 2014
Vince McMahon
Some more bad news for Vince McMahon. It has now been revealed that WWE has lost their television deal with NT1. The two companies have been doing business for approximately eight years now. NT1 has decided to drop WWE from their programming due to declining ratings. McMahon still has his deals with cable and satellite companies in France, but there are fears that those deals could be dropped as well.

Curt Hawkins
"First, I don't often explain myself to no one, but I had no idea anyone got let go. I was asked to post about birthday. That's what came out. It was about my 18 year journey. I know where you live, dude. It's a small world. An apology is due. If not, well, you know me. I'll handle our business." - Mark Henry responding to Curt Hawkins about his insensitive Tweet on the day of his WWE release
June 13, 2014
JTG
A lot of people have been expecting the release of JTG since he spoke up to management about pay per view bonus checks a couple of years back, but it never happened. Until today, that is. Bray Wyatt
"If Luke Harper were a stock, I'd be buying him now. I've watched carefully for a while, and in the past two months, I've finally become sold on the big man, not only as an invaluable part of the bizarre The Wyatt Family, but as a potential breakout star on his own. Finding your way, and blazing your own unique path is no easy task in WWE, especially when standing in the very long shadow of Bray Wyatt. But Harper has found that way. I wasn't ready to buy into the Bruiser Brody comparison, no matter how many times it was brought up. Brody, a legend in the business, and a huge inspiration on my own career, was known as "the intelligent monster." Harper has excelled in my mind, by stepping off that path that Brody blazed, and finding his own, unique way to excel in WWE - as the guy who can do anything at any time, without any seeming rhyme or reason. The hurricanrana followed by a dropkick makes perfect sense, because it makes absolutely no sense. Here's one wrestling fan looking forward to Luke Harper's matches making little sense, but a huge impact on WWE Monday Night Raw for a long time to come." - Mick Foley praises Luke Harper
June 11, 2014
Kenta Kobayashi
Rumors have it that WWE has been signing some of the best international talent to their developmental program. Names like Kevin Steen, Prince Devitt and Kenta Kobayashi have surfaced as potential candidates to join the company later on this year. She received a tryout with the company back in March but no contract has been offered.

Ken Shamrock
An opponent for Bobby Roode at the Wrestle-1 Outbreak pay per view has been chosen. He will be stepping into the ring against veteran wrestler Masakatsu Funaki, who is viewed as one of the greatest MMA fighters in the history of Japan. Funaki has had a couple of legitimate fights with Ken Shamrock over the years.

Bobby Roode
MVP revealed that part of the stipulation with him coming on board with TNA was that he would get to work with certain guys that he has admired as performers. Bobby Roode

"It's hard to compare Gunner to either one of those guys just because I was in a tag team with those guys a much longer time. Me and Chris were basically unknowns coming up through the ranks trying to make a name for ourselves and as far as me and Bobby we were already established and we just kind of clicked together. It took us 6-8 months together to finally click but we did and we made a good run out of it. With me and Gunner, it's one of those things that I don't think we've been a tag team long enough to start describing us against my former partners."

TNA released a video, where Bobby Roode attacked James Storm inside of a bar in Orlando.
