For those that missed the POP TV debut of Impact Wrestling, Ethan Carter is once again the world heavyweight champion in TNA. That is quite interesting as the original plans called for Bobby Lashley to defeat Matt Hardy for the belt. No official word yet on why management made the change, but there are speculations that Lashley might need to focus more on his MMA training now that he is a top contender for a Bellator title.

Back in 2012, Bobby Lashley lost a match against James Thompson in India via decision. Over the weekend, he had a chance to avenge that loss, and that is exactly what Lashley did at Bellator 145. In less than a minute, Lashley defeated Thompson via TKO in the first. The easy victory has sparked talks of a potential title shot for Lashley. No word yet on when the former world heavyweight champion is going to fight next.

He stated that he was probably two more victories away from Bellator giving him a shot at the heavyweight championship. He stated that he still keeps in touch with Vince McMahon, which means that a return cannot be ruled out. Lashley also noted that he still keeps in touch with Shane McMahon pretty frequently. The two of them actually talked last week.

As many of you already know, TNA is doing a World Title Series to determine a new heavyweight champion. Tournament matches are being filmed this week, and there are rumors that Bobby Lashley is going to end up being crowned as the top guy in the promotion again. There are also talks that he will face Matt Hardy in the finals, which means that Ethan Carter will be out of the picture.

When it comes to MMA, Bobby Lashley only has two losses under his belt. One of those was at the hands of James Thompson when the two of them fought in India. Lashley has now been given a chance to get revenge. On November 6, Bellator has booked the two of them in a rematch. Lashley has won six straight fights since losing to Thompson back in 2012.

During a recent interview, Bobby Lashley stated that a lot of professional wrestling fans are going to be mad when CM Punk makes his UFC debut and actually wins the fight. A lot of WWE fans are still upset with Punk for leaving, so they are being petty by rooting against him doing well in MMA. Lashley is well aware of this, so he is not afraid to speak out.
