Bobby Lashley
Based on all the moves that they have been making as of late, it seems that Dixie Carter and her company are hellbent on generating big numbers at these upcoming shows in New York City. Bobby Lashley
A big reason why Bobby Lashley was given the TNA World Heavyweight Championship this week is because he is viewed as a marketing asset. Since MVP has a badly injured knee, TNA decided to change up the main event of Slammiversary 2014. Alexander Rusev
While there are still discussions on a title unification program, there are now people backstage in WWE that are pushing for Sheamus to drop the United States Heavyweight Championship to Alexander Rusev. July 31, 2014
Brock Lesnar
The rumors about Brock Lesnar beating John Cena at Summerslam 2014 for the WWE Championship are escalating even further today, as it has now been revealed that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion has signed on to do a couple of more episodes of Monday Night Raw. July 30, 2014
Miz
There are still plans being discussed backstage in WWE to unify the United States Heavyweight Championship and the Intercontinental Championship in the near future. If management decides to go through with it, then Miz is the more likely candidate to hold the unified belt because he has a lot more momentum than Sheamus at this point in time.
July 28, 2014
Brock Lesnar

July 21, 2014
Jerry Lawler
While he receives a bad rap from a lot of fans due to WWE giving him a heavyweight championship run a couple of years back, Miz is actually very much a student of the game. He has remained motivated despite not being given a push in a while. Miz has also been studying legendary actor Andy Kaufman, who will forever have a place in wrestling history thanks to his memorable story line with Jerry Lawler during the 1980s, so that he can improve his gimmick and character.

As of right now, there are twenty remaining contestants competing for the belt.
July 16, 2014
Wade Barrett
While many were afraid that the injury would cause him to lose his push, the fact that management has Wade Barrett scheduled to make an appearance at WWE Battleground 2014 is a good sign that the elevation will continue once he makes his return. The belief is that Barrett will be handing over the Intercontinental Championship to the winner of the battle royal, while planting the seeds for a future feud.
July 15, 2014
John Cena
Rumors are floating around that the segment on Monday Night Raw between John Cena and Ric Flair was a subtle way for WWE to retire the world heavyweight championship belt. July 15, 2014
Daniel Bryan
While many are under the impression that he is temporarily holding the WWE Championship until Daniel Bryan can return from a serious neck injury, word coming out of backstage is that John Cena is expected to have a lengthy title reign. July 11, 2014
Sheamus
There could be one less championship in WWE after the next pay per view. Rumors are floating around heavily that Sheamus could be the one to win the battle royal to become the new Intercontinental Champion. He is already the reigning United States Heavyweight Champion. A title unification would enable WWE writers to have one less thing to worry about, especially since neither belt has been in the spotlight much lately.

"I don’t know anything about [Bobby] Lashley. Lashley just looks very synthetic to me. That’s just my opinion and I could be completely wrong, and if I am, I apologize to him and his family. No, I don’t apologize to him and his family. God bless him! (laughs). If he’s clean, Jesus man, you’re absolutely phenomenal, a physical specimen. But you look at him.
