During a recent interview, Bobby Lashley stated that a lot of professional wrestling fans are going to be mad when CM Punk makes his UFC debut and actually wins the fight. A lot of WWE fans are still upset with Punk for leaving, so they are being petty by rooting against him doing well in MMA. Lashley is well aware of this, so he is not afraid to speak out.

He stated that if Bellator wanted him to do a match with his teammate Kimbo Slice, then he would more than gladly sign on the dotted line. When asked about CM Punk, Bobby Lashley had some interesting things to say. First and foremost, Lashley is quite supportive of Punk in his quest to fight in UFC. However, Lashley stated that he wished Punk had done a match outside of the promotion first. The belief is that Punk opted to sign immediately with Dana White because an outside loss would reduce his value to the promotion tremendously. A contract might not have been offered.

Since that is only two months away, you can expect Lashley to scale back his commitment to TNA, so that he can start training full time. Their world heavyweight championship match was heavily promoted, and it increased viewership for that episode of Impact Wrestling by a very impressive margin of 20 percent. Executives at Destination America should be quite pleased with that, especially since they were the ones that pushed the front office to make Angle the centerpiece attraction again.

It looks like Bobby Lashley will continue to have multiple avenues of income for at least another year. News coming out of Bellator is that a new contract has been reached. The promotion has been pretty pleased with the results that Lashley has been producing. He has fought twice for them and won both match. In terms of his career, the former world heavyweight champion has won 10 of 12 matches due to stoppage.
