WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that the Royal Rumble was planned out on January 2, 2008.
Smackdown lead writer Michael Hayes and special consultant Pat Patterson worked out the entire plans for the Royal Rumble. They decided on the participants (Triple H was always in the plans, by the way), the order of entrance, the order of elimination, and the finish.
The plans were presented to Vince McMahon afterwards, and he approved.
Now, the plans need to be presented to some of the main wrestlers for approval before everything gets set. The guess here is that the plan needs to be presented to Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker, Triple H, and possibly JBL.

Royal Rumble 2007 DVD Can’t wait until the Royal Rumble? Well, there’s always last year’s Royal Rumble for you to watch. It was a pretty good one, too. Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker put on one hell of a performance. |
