Vince McMahon Wants More Interbrand Matches

Well, you can expect to see a lot more ECW and Smackdown stars on Monday Night Raw from now because Vince McMahon has demanded that his creative team book more interbrand matches.

Vince McMahon spends much of his days and nights trying to figure out ways to increase ratings for his television shows. His latest idea to boost ratings is to produce more matches on Raw between wrestlers on different brands.

This past week, we already saw Batista and Chris Jericho involved in a match.

What’s really interesting about this bit of news is that there’s been no talks about doing interbrand matches on Smackdown or ECW. The focus is to do these matches on Monday Night Raw. WWE has been criticized for being biased towards Raw quite a bit. Looks like Vince McMahon doesn’t care about the critics.

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that Vince McMahon was invited by Congress to speak.

WWE chairman Vince McMahon was invited to speak at a congressional hearing on February 27, 2008. The hearing in Washington DC was meant to address to the health of athletes undermining the integrity of competition (basically steroids abuse).

Vince McMahon declined the invitation. He stated that his attorney was not available that day.

Smart move by Vince McMahon to not show up. He would have basically been made to look bad, especially considering there’s so many bad things that have happened in pro wrestling involving deaths and drugs over the past few months.

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that Vince McMahon has been training hard for his upcoming Wrestlemania match.

According to sources, Vince McMahon has been working out even harder than normal in preparations of a match at Wrestlemania. He routinely works out anyways, but as of late, he’s been stepping it up.

Right now, the strong indication is that he will be working a match against Finlay. Hornswoggle will definitely be involved as well, but it’s unclear what role he will have.

There were also speculations that Mick Foley could be brought in to work a program against Vince McMahon. However, aside from a brief appearance in the Royal Rumble, there hasn’t been any indications that it’s going to happen.

Vince McMahon told the wrestlers that he fired Bobby Lashley for complaining. It’s been said that he did that to set an example for the other wrestlers. Obviously, that tactic might not be as effective since most people knew that Bobby Lashley had quit the company.

On a side note, if Bobby Lashley was indeed fired by WWE, then that means that he’s free to go to TNA after 90 days. If he quit before his contract ended, then WWE would be able to try to prevent him from going to TNA (kind of like how they handled Brock Lesnar). Considering that it took WWE so long to announce his release (almost a week after he announced it on his website), Bobby Lashley more than likely quit as opposed to being released.

The penthouse resides within the Trump Parc (which is owned by Donald Trump) in Stamford, Connecticut. Vince McMahon already owns the most expensive penthouse (valued at approximately $4 million) in the entire state of Connecticut.

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that the original plan for Monday Night Raw’s 15th anniversary show was to have ended with Bret Hart putting Vince McMahon in the Sharpshooter.

The attacks would have occurred as planned. The only difference would have been Bret Hart would have finished things off with the Sharpshooter on Vince McMahon as he cameras went off the air. Had that happened, then the final beer celebration would not have happened.

WWE tried very hard to get Bret Hart to make an appearance, but in the end, there wasn’t an offer on the table that was good enough to get him to change his mind.

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that Vince McMahon will attempt once more to get Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin to agree to do a match at Wrestlemania 24.

In the past, Hulk Hogan has reportedly agreed to do the match. However, Steve Austin is the one holding up the match because he doesn’t want to do it. With Hulk Hogan’s age and Steve Austin’s injuries, it’s not hard to see why he would be hesitant to jump on board.

However, Vince McMahon still believes that the hype behind the match itself would be more than enough to increase revenue. Plus, it would give Wrestlemania 24 that “big event” feel.

Steve Austin is already confirmed for next week’s special edition of Monday Night Raw. Hulk Hogan should also be there as well. Vince McMahon will probably take that opportunity to discuss the match with both wrestlers again.
