CM Punk

CM Punk

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that CM Punk has been in the doghouse with WWE management.

Reports claim that management took the ECW Heavyweight Championship off of CM Punk last week as punishment. He dropped the belt to Chavo Guerrero. CM Punk then lost a match to Edge on the following episode of Smackdown.

He’ll still be pushed as the top babyface challenger in ECW because management knows that they need him in that role. There’s no one else available to replace him in the brand.

Word has it that the agents aren’t particularly pleased with CM Punk over his in-ring work. It’s being said that CM Punk’s work at house shows has been sloppy as of late (kind of weird since he’s a solid worker on television and pay per view).

Of course, all of this could be a bit fabricated. CM Punk does have a history of not being liked by a few individuals backstage. This could just be another case of backstage politics in WWE.

CM Punk

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that CM Punk has been added to the Royal Rumble.

At a house show on Saturday night, ECW GM Armando Estrada changed up the match between CM Punk and Chavo Guerrero. It was originally scheduled to be for the ECW Heavyweight Championship. However, the general manager changed it to a Royal Rumble qualifying match.

CM Punk got the win and will now enter the Royal Rumble.

As far as his chances are concerned, they’re pretty good. Unlike 20 of the contestants in the Royal Rumble, CM Punk actually has a chance to win and advance to Wrestlemania. Granted, the chances are a bit smaller than the likes of Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Batista. However, if management decide to surprise the audience, then CM Punk would be a good choice.

CM Punk

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that CM Punk has the most televised wins this year in WWE.

The current ECW Heavyweight Champion had 48 wins this year. Pretty impressive considering there are only 52 weeks in a year.

Second on the list is Jeff Hardy, who had 44 televised victories this year.

For the tag team division, the Highlanders were surprisingly on top of the list with 16 wins. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch had 15 wins.

We’re sure quite a bit of people are shocked to know that the Highlanders had the most wins. They were barely on Monday Night Raw this year. The fact that all it took was 16 televised victories to be on top of the list lets you know how weak the tag team division is.

Rey Mysterio

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that the Boston Globe has published an interesting article on Rey Mysterio, Layla El, and CM Punk.

The WWE trio sat down for an interview during a promotional appearance. Here’s a few highlights from the article:

On dancing:
“Having rhythm doesn’t mean you can dance. I’ve been in bands my entire life. That’s where the rhythm comes from.” - CM Punk

On why Layla carries two phones:
“One of them is for boys and one of them is for boys no one is supposed to know about.” - CM Punk

On his status:
“Just alone. Dating’s overrated.” - CM Punk

On dating:
“It’s just hard to meet people. Most of my time is at work. I can’t date people at work. Since I moved to L.A., I haven’t been on a date. That was seven or eight months ago. I’m a young, successful woman. Maybe I’m intimidated.” - Layla El

On Layla’s grammar error:
“You mean intimidating?”‘ - CM Punk

The three then have a quick discussion on Michael Vick, who was recently sentenced to 23 months in prison for running a dogfighting and gambling ring. CM Punk and Layla El feels that he wasn’t punished harshly enough, while Rey Mysterio feels that he should have been given more of a chance.

CM Punk comes off really personable in this interview.

CM Punk

WrestlingRevealed.com has learned that CM Punk (and a few others) were not drinking beer at the end of Monday Night Raw last night.

For those that don’t know, CM Punk lives a “straight edge” lifestyle, which means that he abstains from drugs and alcohol. There were a few fans who thought that he was drinking beer with the rest of the wrestlers, but he was in fact drinking a soda.

William Regal was another wrestler that was drinking soda instead of beer. He’s had a history of alcohol abuse in the past, so that would explain why William Regal would refrain from drinking.

Also, Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Hulk Hogan were noticeably missing from the celebration. Hulk Hogan more than likely left the arena immediately after his segment ended. As far as Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon are concerned, it probably made more sense for them not to be there. With Vince McMahon being abused by Stone Cold Steve Austin in that segment, it would not have made sense for them to stand by.

CM Punk

In a rather shocking move, CM Punk has taken over the top spot on the WWE Power 25 for the first time ever.

It’s a bit shocking because a lot of critics have noted that management hasn’t done enough to make his title reign meaningful. He’s still putting on quality matches, and he still does well on the mic. It’s just that there hasn’t been a great storyline or opponent for him to overcome.

Nonetheless, it’s great to see a good worker like CM Punk finally getting his dues.

The staff at WrestlingRevealed.com has been sitting at the office still trying to figure out what CM Punk’s shirt really means.

We have a four leaf clover, a pair of dice, a horse shoe, and four ace cards.

It’s an awesome design and an awesome shirt. We just don’t know what it means.
