Undertaker Bio - The Bad Feuds Era

by Jack Windham
March 23, 2008

We're going to start our bio series on various wrestlers. Instead of doing a quick one, we're going to expand it and cover various parts of their career.

After a hot start, the Undertaker went through a period of time where WWE booked him in horrible feud after horrible feud.

Horrible Feuds...

After a highly entertaining feud with Jake "the Snake" Roberts, the legendary Undertaker turned into a babyface.

WWE basically did that so they could book him against various heel monsters that they could find.

The first one that they threw at the Undertaker was Kamala. Both men had worked in WCCW during the 1980s, but that was where the similarities end.

Kamala was always a guy that got pushed because of his gimmick as opposed to his actual ring skills. He was very limited in the ring.

The matches against the Undertaker were absolutely horrible to watch. Fortunately, it ended after the Undertaker won the first televised casket match against the Ugandan Giant at Survivor Series 1992.

Management then stuck the Undertaker into a meaningless feud with Giant Gonzales, who was a legitimate 7'7" tall wrestler.

Giant Gonzales was quite immobile, so the Undertaker had to do his best to make the match look even decent.

...After Horrible Feuds...

The Undertaker then faced Yokozuna for the WWE Heavyweight Championship.

While Yokozuna was a lot better than other guys his size, he still was a liability in the ring.

The matches between the two were absolutely horrible to watch.

WWE then needed another opponent for the Undertaker, so they had him go up again...himself.

That's right, WWE created a fake Undertaker to go up against the real Undertaker.

Those who like to believe that Vince McMahon is flawless need to watch this feud again.

It was absolutely terrible.

...After Horrible Feuds

WWE then placed the Undertaker into feuds with Kama Mustafa (who later became known as the Godfather) and Mable (who is now known as Big Daddy V).

These feuds did absolutely nothing for the Undertaker except add a couple of wins to his win/loss record.

This was an extremely dark period in the Undertaker's career as he became more and more dragged down by the horrible feuds that he was thrown into.

It was also a period of time where the Undertaker had to take several months off because of various injuries.
