When Chyna mysteriously backed out of Season's Beatings, Maryland Championship Wrestling rushed to find a replacement. Billy Gunn was willing to drop everything during the holidays to make it up there for the show. As a reward, the former WWE star was allowed to win the MCW Television Championship. Not sure how long he will be holding the belt, though, as he is not a regular there.

Earlier in the month, Billy Gunn was fired by WWE after management found out that he had failed a drug test during a powerlifting competition. The belief is that it is simply a public relations move to avoid drawing negative attention from the media. Many feel that Gunn will be back as a trainer in a couple of months when the heat dies does. He is well liked by a lot of people in the company.

For years, Bill DeMott and Billy Gunn were staples of the developmental program in WWE. DeMott was fired after a major controversy. Well, now Gunn is following him out the door. Management was forced to fire Gunn after finding out that he was taking performance enhancing drugs for his power lifting career that he was doing on the side. The front office stated that they had no idea he was even doing that.

When word broke out that James Storm had signed with WWE, reports surfaced that his friendship with Billy Gunn was the primary reason why the contract was offered and signed. The former world heavyweight champion publicly confirmed that, and he also mentioned that his friendship with Road Dogg was pivotal to his new career move. Storm stated that Dogg was the person that talked to Triple H about the idea.

For those that are still wondering if Triple H is the type of person to do what is best for business, his relationship with Billy Gunn should speak volumes. Gunn was heavily critical of HHH when he initially was forced out of WWE. He was very vocal about it and willingly discussed it with the public. The two of them have now made up because HHH knows that Gunn is very valuable to the company as a trainer.

History might have been extremely different for Brock Lesnar had one of the writers been able to convince Stephanie McMahon to go along with his idea. Had it gone through, Lesnar would have portrayed a tough guy that was also gay. Management did like the idea enough to where they ended up using it for Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo instead.

It appears that WWE has called in some heavy hitters to make up for the loss of Steve Austin on the next season of Tough Enough. Chris Jericho has finally been announced as the host. He will be joined by a panel consisting of Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan and Paige. Not only that, the trainers are going to be Booker T, Billy Gunn and Lita. There will be guest appearances made on the show by Vince McMahon, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and John Cena.
