This week marks the 15 year anniversary of Big Show signing with WWE. Vince McMahon was able to snatch him away from WCW by offering him a ten year contract worth millions of dollars. At the time, Eric Bischoff was handing out massive contracts to performers like Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart, so it had to have been a sizable amount of cash.

Jeff Jarrett
Since his contract with WWE has now officially ended, rumors about Jim Ross and his future in professional wrestling have started heating up again. Since the longtime commentator does not want to replace Taz or Mike Tenay in TNA, much of the speculations has been geared towards him joining up with Jeff Jarrett in Global Force Wrestling. Interest within the industry towards the new promotion has grown since Jarrett has been able to secure several deals across the globe.

Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon has another big headache to deal with, as his company is being hit with a class action lawsuit. The claim is that WWE purposely misled investors about their ability to secure a much better television deal with the network than the contract that they eventually signed. The promise of a bigger television deal was reportedly the reason why a lot of investors sank money into WWE, causing their stocks to soar to record levels.
July 26, 2014
Josh Mathews
Josh Mathews might not be out of a job for too long. Rumors are floating around that TNA is very close to signing him to a contract. When he was backstage at Impact Wrestling, he did not seem like a typical visitor, as management was introducing him to people backstage. The belief is that he would be a valuable asset since he understands a lot about the production in WWE.
July 25, 2014
Rey Mysterio
A couple of months ago, Rey Mysterio was under the belief that his tenure with WWE was over when his contract expired. However, the company enacted a clause in the deal that enabled them to extend the partnership because the masked performer missed quite a bit of dates. Apparently, he is not too happy about that, as reports have surfaced that Mysterio has stopped cashing his checks in what seems to be an attempt to get out of the deal.
July 24, 2014
Jim Ross
Even though he has not been with the company for quite a few months now, Jim Ross was actually under contract to WWE. Until today, that is. The legendary commentator revealed to fans through social media that his contract officially came to an end this week. While Ross has stated before that he would love to be the lead commentator for Monday Night Raw again, it does not appear that Vince McMahon is interested in that.
July 23, 2014
Prince Devitt
Over the last couple of months, there have been plenty of rumors in regards to WWE signing international star Prince Devitt to a contract. Things heated up even more when he left New Japan. While he has already said his farewell to Ring of Honor fans, Kevin Steen is reportedly not under contract to WWE just yet. Word has it that he has yet to complete the medical testing that the company requires all new performers to undergo before signing a deal. If there are any lingering injuries, then there is a chance that Steen might not be picked up by the WWE developmental program.
July 16, 2014
CM Punk
Reports are going around that CM Punk could be officially gone from WWE now. The former world heavyweight champion has been removed from the active roster list on the website. His profile has been moved over to the alumni section, which the company normally does when a performer is gone. Punk's contract is said to be expiring later on this week, so it's interesting that WWE pulled the trigger on the roster change ahead of time.
July 15, 2014
CM Punk
Since his contract is expiring in a few days, there were many who believed that WWE was going to extend their contract with CM Punk since he has been gone for an extended period of time. However, reports are surfacing that Vince McMahon is opting against that because he does not see a reconciliation on the horizon. Plus, WWE cannot afford to pay a performer to sit at home.
July 14, 2014
JTG
While morale is really low backstage due to the recent and severe drop in royalty checks, WWE performers are not speaking out on the matter because they are afraid of Vince McMahon. Many saw what happened to JTG when he voiced his opinion about low pay per view bonus checks. The former Cryme Tyme member was buried for more than a year and recently was given a release form his contract.

July 11, 2014
Austin Aries
For those that missed Impact Wrestling this week, Austin Aries defeated Seiya Sanada to capture the TNA X Division Championship. Since the match was taped before Sanada had a chance to sign a new contract with TNA, the belief is that his potential departure was one of the reasons behind the title switch. Aries also announced that he would be cashing in the belt to get a shot at the world heavyweight champion at Destination X.
July 11, 2014
Masahiro Chono
Long known as one of the most famous wrestlers in all of Japan, Masahiro Chono has signed a new deal with WWE. However, the contract is not for him to become an in ring performer for the company. Kurt Angle
Earlier in the week, rumors surfaced that a photo of Kurt Angle being passed out on a plane was spotted backstage in WWE. Rumors are floating around that management has opted against using him because he is taking off to film a movie soon. However, there is some skepticism on that theory because the company has done stories before that have lasted just a month. Big Show could have been utilized to put someone in WWE over during that stretch of time.
