The last time that the United States Heavyweight Championship was defended was back in October, when Dean Ambrose successfully defended the title against Big E Langston at Hell in a Cell 2013 and on Monday Night Raw the following night.
WWE conducted a poll, asking fans if they felt that Big E Langston would some day be a world heavyweight champion. Thus far, 70% of the voters feel that the current Intercontinental Champion will move up to the main event scene eventually.
After his match against Damien Sandow at TLC, Big E Langston remains the WWE Intercontinental Champion. Langston got the pin fall victory after hitting a clothesline and the Big Ending finisher.
WWE has appointed the Shield as their rookies of the year. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns beat out the Wyatt Family, Fandango, Curtis Axel and Big E Langston.
With Big E Langston recently winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship, he picked up the expected win in a rematch with Curtis Axel at the Survivor Series. A pinfall came after the Big Ending finisher.
Big E Langston has been given a spot on the Survivor Series, where the new WWE Intercontinental Champion will defend against former champion Curtis Axel.
