When the Royal Rumble rolls around, you can be certain that several names will be mentioned as possible surprise entrants. However, one former WWE star can be officially ruled out now. Reports have surfaced that Batista will start filming Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in January. Not only does he not have the time to make a return to professional wrestling, he also has no inclinations at this point.

Just this month alone, Batista has bashed WWE and revealed that he would be wiling to return to the company. The reason why he is doing that is because he knows that he has all the leverage in the world now that he is a big movie star. The former world heavyweight champion has friends in high places within the company, so he knows that his words won't prevent a return from happening.

While he recently stated that he would consider a return to the promotion, Batista once again decided to bash WWE. The former world heavyweight champion had issues with a camera man that did not know his name. The 46 year old actor stated that there are fans that know more about professional wrestling than some of the people that World Wrestling Entertainment has been hiring lately.

When asked if he was willing to return to WWE, Batista stated that he would gladly do it because he still loves professional wrestling. However, he will not make a return unless the creative department gives him a bit more freedom this time around. Batista also stated that he would love to only work live events, so that he can avoid having to deal with the creative department.

Over the weekend, Batista took to social media to remind us that he has a lot of issues with the creative department in WWE. This time, he took a jab when someone suggested that he make a return to the company to form a tag team with Sheamus. The former world heavyweight champion knows that he has a ton of leverage due to his new found status in Hollywood, so he has no qualms about being vocal.

Since he has been quite vocal about the creative department, there is some backstage heat towards Batista from people in WWE. However, don't expect the former world heavyweight champion to stop trashing the product. He knows that his name value is growing by the day, so if he ever wanted to make another return, Vince McMahon would gladly be there to hold the door open for him with a gigantic check in his hands as well.

Chris Jericho has already done it. Batista is thinking about doing it. Now, all eyes are on Dwayne Johnson to see if he would be interested in returning to WWE to work a schedule where you only do live events. The answer to that is rather disappointing if you're a big fan. Johnson simply does not have the time to do it because of all the business projects that he has going on at once. There is very little time in between shooting movies as well.

For those of you that are hoping to see Batista making a return at the next Wrestlemania, there is some bad news. He is going to be rather busy next spring. It has now been announced by Marvel that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will begin taping in February. The former world heavyweight champion will be reprising the role of Drax the Destroyer, and he should be too occupied to train for a return to the wrestling ring.

The rumors have now been confirmed. Batista has been officially cast for the new Highlander movie being made. He will star as a character named The Kurgan. The former WWE star is actually the first person on the cast to be officially confirmed. No word yet on when the film will start shooting, but the 46 year old is currently doing the latest James Bond movie. With that busy of a schedule, do not expect to see another return to wrestling yet.

When it comes to Batista, the majority of people in the industry have ruled out his potential return to WWE. Management, though, still has faith that he will do another comeback down the road. When he left last year, he left the door open and has never publicly stated that he was done with wrestling. With his star power in Hollywood growing more and more by the day, management feels that money spent on him would be well worth it.
