After being deliberately assaulted by JBL at the One Night Stand pay per view, the Blue Meanie was contemplating a lawsuit against WWE. However, he came to an agreement with the company on a contract shortly afterwards. He was also given a televised victory over JBL, thanks to help from Batista. The belief was that it was all done to prevent the lawsuit from going forward.
