Shane McMahon's Departure

It has been a bit of time since Shane McMahon announced his surprising departure from WWE. However, very little details have surfaced about the entire situation.

Shane McMahon's Departure

In the world of professional wrestling, very little things can take place without the word spreading through the entire world wide web.

Some things, though, do manage to remain a secret.

On October 16, 2009, WWE released an official statement letting the world know that Shane McMahon, whose official role is Executive Vice President of Global Media, had submitted his resignation to the company.

The man who many fans were hoping would some day take over as the Chairman for his father decided to call it quits instead.

Obviously, the bit of news rang quite loudly through the internet wrestling community. Everyone was on pins and needles, waiting for more juicy details to surface.

It's been over two weeks now, and we're all still waiting.

Mum is the Word

If you ever find yourself getting a job with WWE, know that there are going to be a few unofficial rules that you need to follow when you're backstage or at the corporate offices.

One of the big ones is that you never ask about the hatred that Vince McMahon has towards "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Don't mention his name. Don't ever raise both arms if you're standing on the top turnbuckle. Don't eat a Slim Jim.

There's a feeling among those backstage that the subject of Randy Savage is taboo. The same feeling now exists when it comes to discussing Shane McMahon's departure.

Vince McMahon is said to be quite upset that his son is leaving the company. It's a well known fact that the Chairman loves having both of his kids working in the company with him.

During a recent conference call with investors, Vince McMahon was asked about his son's departure. Just as easy as it is for him to breathe, the Chairman was able to skirt the question with some generic answers.

While he's doing that, there's some crazy assumptions flying around all over the place. It will remain that way until the truth comes out.

Addressing the Assumptions

Some of the allegations range from possible to ridiculous.

First of all, Shane McMahon is not joining up with Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan to take over TNA. If you're looking for some good science fiction, then head to the theaters to watch 2010 later on this month.

A small rumor floating around is that Shane McMahon is leaving the company to help his mother pursue her politic career, but this one is highly unlikely to be true.

If he does leave for something that can be considered competition to WWE, it would be for the world of mixed martial arts. Shane McMahon has always expressed a strong interest in MMA. Starting up an MMA company would not be beyond the realm of possibility.

There's also talks that personal family issues are the reason why Shane McMahon is leaving. Those that are seeking good gossip are the ones that are hoping for this one to be true.

Closing Thoughts

It's pretty annoying that we still don't know what happened between Vince McMahon and Randy Savage. Reason being is that there's some ridiculously unbelievable rumors floating around still.

Hopefully, the same thing doesn't happen between Shane McMahon and his father.
