Is There Room For Batista?

Batista is set to return soon, and the big question right now is whether or not there's room for him on the Raw roster.

Is There Room For Batista?

When Batista went down with yet another injury, it was a big blow to the company because he was one of the few active main event wrestlers available.

However, there was one "good" thing about the injury. It opened up a spot for another wrestler to gain some more television time (none were elevated to the main event, though).

Now, the former World Heavyweight Champion has healed up and is almost ready to return to the road.

Things on Raw have changed a bit, though, since the 6'5", 290 pound man went down with the injury.

The main event scene might not have enough room for Batista.

The Babyfaces

In terms of top level babyfaces, Raw might actually have more than they need.

Let's start at the very top with John Cena. WWE had him move down the card for a stretch there to feud with the likes of the Miz and Big Show. Vince McMahon isn't going to take him out of the main event soon this fast.

Then, you have Degeneration X. Shawn Michaels and Triple H are currently working tag team matches, but don't for a second fool yourself into thinking that they're not main event wrestlers still.

Aside from the big three of John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H, you also have two other guys that are currently trying to break the glass ceiling on Raw.

MVP and Mark Henry are very close to breaking into the main event scene. However, the company has decided to put them together as a tag team (temporarily) because there's just not enough room for them at the top right now.

Throwing Batista back into the mix makes things a bit more complicated.

The Heels

On paper, the heel side of Raw might not seem too packed. When you factor in some other things, though, you'll find that there's not a lot of room for Batista there either.

Randy Orton stands on top of the heel mountain on Raw. He's such a strong character right now that no other heel has been able to challenge him for his spot.

Many people have forgotten that the Big Show is still on the Raw roster. He's still there, and he's still a part of the main event scene. He's picked up quite a bit of momentum after being paired with Chris Jericho.

Speaking of Chris Jericho, he's officially on the Smackdown roster, but he plays a big part on Raw. He's a guy that you definitely do not want to take television away from because he's the most entertaining wrestler in the business right now.

You also have guys like the Miz, Jack Swagger, and Carlito trying to make their way up. They're more than likely going to be stuck were they are for a while until the roster clears up.

Not a lot of room for Batista on this side either.

Closing Thoughts

The heel side of things isn't as clogged up as the babyface side, so maybe it's time to turn Batista. That, or the company can send him over to Smackdown to help make up for the loss of Jeff Hardy.
