Fresh Feuds in TNA

With so many fresh faces in TNA over the last year, the company now stands at envious position of being able to throw out several fresh new feuds.

Fresh Feuds in TNA

When WCW died, a lot of fans unwittingly believed that every single thing that the promotion did was wrong. They based this on the fact that the company folded, and these fans (usually on the bottom half of the intelligence ladder) deal in absolutes.

Not everything can be wrong when you factor in that WCW did something that was difficult to imagine - they defeated Vince McMahon and WWE (even if it was just for a year or so). Some of the things they did had to have been right for that to have happened.

One of the many things that WCW did right was that they were willing to constantly bring in new wrestlers (thanks to the deep pockets of Ted Turner) to provide fresh new matchups. That's what kept it from growing stale for a period of time.

Over the last year or so, TNA has proven to be a company that has not shied away from bringing in new wrestlers in hopes of providing fresh matchups that will keep the fans interested.

Fresh feuds have to happen in TNA.

Friendly Suggestions

A lot of wrestling fans might not respect the likes of Vince Russo and Dutch Mantell. They've gotten bad reputations (some of which is a bit unfair, to be honest) from the audience for their previous work and their current association with TNA.

However, I'm going to do them a favor by throwing out some friendly suggestions for fresh feuds. Not trying to do their jobs, but just trying to help out.

  • Mick Foley vs Abyss - Abyss states that this would be his dream program to work, and it's hard to disagree with him. This could be the feud that puts Abyss as a more consistent main event player.

  • Kurt Angle vs Bobby Lashley - This matchup could easily headline a TNA pay per view. It could also be a WWE pay per view main event as well.

  • Matt Morgan vs Kevin Nash - While he might be 50 years old, Kevin Nash is still capable of putting people over. He could pass the torch to Matt Morgan as the next big man.

  • Hernandez vs Samoa Joe - This match might not be a pay per view main event right now, but it could be a few years from now. I can guarantee you that the match would be brutal and entertaining to see.

  • Mr Kennedy vs Sting - What better rub could Mr Kennedy get than by working with a legend like Sting? Could be the program that makes Mr Kennedy a main event performer finally.

  • Tara (formerly known as Victoria) vs Awesome Kong - This is a program that everyone has been waiting to see. Between their experience and excellent in-ring performances, this could be a match that steals the show.

  • Umaga vs Samoa Joe - Umaga probably will be more human than beast if he does sign, but that doesn't mean that we can't have a great Samoan Street Fight between him and Samoa Joe.

Put a couple of these matches on a pay per view, and I'm pretty sure that's going to spark enough curiosity from fans to get them to spend some money.

Closing Thoughts

Stale matchups is one of the things that WWE is suffering from (they're working on fixing it soon, though). TNA does not have the big fanbase to afford having stale matchups.
