WWE Signing Low Ki?

by Jack Windham
November 6, 2008

If Rey Mysterio gets his ways, then Low Ki (formerly known as Senshi in TNA) will have a job with WWE very soon.

WWE Signing Low Ki?

Earlier this week, Low Ki came one step closer to being picked up by WWE.

On Tuesday night, Low Ki worked a dark match before the Smackdown tapings began.

It was a tryout match for management to see if the company should invest a developmental contract on the former TNA X Division champion.

In case you're wondering, Low Ki worked a match against Primo Colon. Even though he lost the match, it doesn't have any effect on management's decision to hire him.

Big Backers

It has been revealed that Rey Mysterio and MVP are the two wrestlers that have been campaigning for WWE to give Low Ki a chance.

Since MVP hasn't exactly been a huge moneymaker for the company, we're going to assume safely that it was Rey Mysterio's stroke that made the tryout happen.

It appears as if Rey Mysterio has gained quite a bit of clout backstage since he was also able to convince the company to hire Norman Smiley.

Norman Smiley, a former WCW star, now works as a trainer for WWE down in Florida Championship Wrestling.

Potential Storylines

Just how much does Rey Mysterio like Low Ki?

Well, he's gone as far as to even come up with some potential storylines that management could use for Low Ki.

One of the storylines involves Low Ki portraying a heel version of Rey Mysterio, which would obviously lead to a feud between the two.

WWE has already storylines involving a fake Undertaker and a fake Kane. Why not a fake Rey Mysterio?

With Low Ki being one of the top independent wrestlers in the world, his matches against Rey Mysterio should be quite entertaining.

Low Key

If Low Ki gets hired by WWE, it will be interesting to see how his backstage behaviour will be.

In the past, he has been known to stay in character even outside of the ring. He's very focused and keeps to himself.

There's a little tradition in WWE that requires new wrestlers to be very friendly towards the veteran wrestlers.

It will definitely be interesting to see if Low Ki will become more sociable or if his introverted ways offend people.

Closing Thoughts

Since I really want to see Low Ki working matches with Rey Mysterio, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works out.
