TNA Creating New Stars

With this new Main Event Mafia storyline, TNA has an opportunity to create a bunch of new stars.
TNA Creating New Stars
One of the biggest complaints that anti-TNA fans have against the company is that they're not creating new stars.
That belief right there is not entirely true, but that's another debate for another time.
This storyline that TNA has created features established superstars (Main Evetn Mafia) going up against younger stars.
It's a brilliant storyline that has brought interest back to TNA.
It's also a storyline that will enable the creative department plenty of opportunities to create new stars.
The Rub
The brilliance behind the storyline (it's not one that hasn't been done before, though) is that it allows the younger wrestlers to get the rub.
Kevin Nash mentioned the term "rub" not too long ago on TNA iMPACT!
For those of you that aren't familiar with the term, "rub" means the benefit that younger wrestlers receive from more established superstars.
Sting received the rub from Ric Flair after his huge match at the first ever Clash of the Champions event.
Kevin Nash received a rub by being associated with Shawn Michaels when he first made his debut in WWE.
Now, the Main Event Mafia has a chance to give a rub to several of the lesser established wrestlers.
In the past, if you had a match between Consequences Creed and Booker T, it would have basically just been a squash match on TNA iMPACT!
Now, that match can be considered as a younger wrestler fighting for his peers to receive respect from former world champions.
The match now has enough of a back story that it could possibly be done in the midcard of a pay per view.
Rotation
Another great thing about this storyline is that it can involve several of the wrestlers that are on the bottom half of the roster.
Guys like Jimmy Rave and Lance Rock haven't been involved in the storyline thus yet, but they can be utilized for a few weeks.
Any wrestler that isn't involved in a storyline right now can be used in this storyline against the Main Event Mafia.
Of course, you can't have everyone involved at once, though. That would be extremely difficult from a creative perspective.
Closing Thoughts
Once again, I'd like to say that TNA has stumbled upon a storyline that could possibly make or break the company (in terms of creativity, not business). |
