Put the Belt on AJ Styles

At the Turning Point pay per view, the company really needs to put the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on AJ Styles.
The Buildup
For a while now, wrestling fans have been anxiously awaiting AJ Styles' return to the top of the ladder in TNA.
At the Turning Point pay per view, he gets his chance to reclaim that spot when he challenges Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
The buildup for the match has been tremendous, as AJ Styles isn't just trying to win the championship for himself, he's trying to win respect for the younger wrestlers in TNA.
With that much more added to the storyline, the match becomes all the more captivating.
Turning Point
TNA has struck gold with their Main Event Mafia storyline.
It has brought excitement back into the company, and it has provided several midcard wrestlers a vehicle to be elevated.
The turning point in this storyline (pun intended), though, will happen if AJ Styles captures the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
With that, the balance of power would be shifted over to the TNA Originals.
The loss of the belt would cause the members of the Main Event Mafia to step up their games in an attempt to reclaim something that they value.
Without the belt, it becomes harder for their characters to claim dominance over the wrestlers that have fewer accomplishments.
From Star to Superstar
By winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, AJ Styles is then placed in a position to go from being a star to being a superstar.
Credibility and momentum are everything in this business.
Winning the belt and defending it against several former world champions would give AJ Styles both credibility and momentum.
TNA can establish immediate credibility by having AJ Styles convincingly defeat Sting, a multi-time world champion, for the belt at Turning Point.
They can establish even further credibility for the Phenomenal One by having defeat Sting in a rematch at Final Resolution.
Afterwards, AJ Styles can be used against the other former world champions (Scott Steiner, Booker T, Kevin Nash, and Kurt Angle) in the following months.
The Main Event Mafia can still maintain their momentum by doing various attacks and cutting scathing promos.
Closing Thoughts
As much as I like Sting, I'm really rooting for a title change at Turning Point. |
