It appears that Mike Adamle isn't simply leaving in the storylines. He's also leaving WWE in real life.
Adamle Leaving WWE
On Monday Night Raw this week, wrestling fans witnessed Mike Adamle resigning as the brand's general manager.
The embattered general manager made the decision to resign before Shane McMahon could make a decision.
You see, the previous week saw Randy Orton demanding that Mike Adamle be fired or he'd leave the company.
That was the storyline version of things. There's also a real life story about Mike Adamle leaving WWE.
That's right. The man that was universally hated by the wrestling community has decided to remove himself from the WWE Universe.
Real Life Release
WWE has not officially released Mike Adamle from his contract just yet.
As things stand now, both Mike Adamle and the company have decided that it's best for him not to be utilized.
The company hasn't been all too happy with Mike Adamle's overall performance, both as a commentator and as an on screen character.
It's also well known that Mike Adamle wasn't a fan of the wrestling business. The belief is that the $300,000 annual salary was what enticed him to give it a try.
So, for now, Mike Adamle will not be a part of WWE.
Rough Replacement
Now that Mike Adamle has resigned, the big storyline in WWE once again is the general manager spot.
The company will probably end up choosing a new general manager that is more of an encforcer.
The storyline over the last few weeks has been that Randy Orton has been bullying his way to what he wants.
It seems like WWE is setting it up for a tough general manager to come in who won't physically back down to the third generation star.
Someone like Terry Funk could fit the role rather well. However, his relationship with Vince McMahon is about as shaky as the relationship between the chairman and Hulk Hogan.
Of course, WWE could also choose to go with a general manager who will continue to be bullied by Randy Orton.
That route enables the former World Heavyweight Champion to retain his heel heat.
Closing Thoughts
Mike Adamle seemed like a nice guy, but his depature from the company isn't going to cause much heartache for the fans. |
