It seems like the popular rumor on the internet nowadays usually involves a wrestler leaving TNA.
Leaving TNA
Log on to the internet nowadays and it seems like the most interesting discussions involve any particular wrestler leaving TNA when their contract expires.
In case you haven't heard yet, there are several contracts expiring this upcoming spring.
Over the last several months, several TNA contracts expired as well.
In every instance, there was always a heated rumor that the wrestler would either be leaving TNA or retiring.
Still Around
Despite all the rumors, there's still several wrestlers that opted to sign another contract with TNA to stay with the company.
A lot of people thought that Sting was going to be retiring at the end of 2008, but it now looks like he's willing to stick around for another year.
When it was discovered that Kevin Nash was set to become a free agent, rumors starting popping up about him returning to WWE for another run with his good friend, Shawn Michaels.
Kevin Nash ended up signing another contract with TNA.
Earlier in the year, many people believed that Team 3D were setting themselves up for a return to WWE, but as of now, there hasn't been much discussion on that.
Even lower level wrestlers like BG James and Kip James (formerly known as the New Age Outlaws) were involved in rumors of a TNA departure.
Christian Crossfire
The hottest discussion going on right now involves Christian Cage.
As many of you all know, his contract is ending soon, and he does have an offer on the table from WWE for a return.
He has yet to make an official decision, but many are already under the impression that it's a done deal.
Upcoming Expirations
From now until the spring, there's going to be several wrestlers who are going to become free agents if TNA does not sign them to another contract.
Rhino's contract is expiring, and a few are wondering if he's going to head back to WWE.
Several of the X division wrestlers, including Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and Homicide are set to become free agents.
Hernandez, who many have pegged as a future singles star, is going to need another contract soon.
Closing Thoughts
I'm still not sure why everyone thinks that the grass is always greener on the other side. Not everyone is going to leave TNA for WWE. |
