John Cena's Return

At the Survivor Series, John Cena isn't just returning to WWE. He's returning to take his familiar place as the centerpiece of the company.
John Cena's Return
In case you've been living under a rock, John Cena is scheduled to return to action at the upcoming Survivor Series.
He has already been booked for a World Heavyweight Championship match against Chris Jericho.
With WWE really wanting (and needing) John Cena to be the focal point again, there's a very good chance that he walks out of the Survivor Series as the champion.
A lot of wrestling fans have been praying that WWE doesn't go that route.
The Right Choice
A lot of wrestling fans hate John Cena and hate the fact that he was constantly being pushed.
That's common knowledge.
What isn't common knowledge is the reasoning behind WWE keeping him in the top spot for so long.
Wrestling is a business. It always has been, and it always will be. Vince McMahon is trying to make money, as he rightfully should be.
John Cena might have a lot of detractors, but he's already proven to the company that he's worth good money.
People are paying money to WWE thanks to John Cena.
If that sentence doesn't explain to you why Vince McMahon is in love with John Cena, then there's really no hope of being able to explain it any further.
Standing Tall
If John Cena does become the champion again, then WWE will have to get to work on setting up challengers for him.
Obviously, they can do a program where Chris Jericho is trying to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship.
Since Batista was able to beat John Cena earlier in the year, he becomes a logical choice as a challenger as well.
JBL is going to need something a bit more interesting before management puts him back into a feud with John Cena. Right now, a feud between the two doesn't seem all that exciting.
Randy Orton is another obvious choice since the previous storyline between these two over the belt was highly entertaining.
Dark horse candidates to challenge John Cena for the title include CM Punk and Kane, both of whom are former world champions.
Closing Thoughts
Love him or hate him (and a lot of you do hate him), WWE is making a smart business decision by putting John Cena back in the spotlight. |
