Elijah Burke, one of the most talented overall performers in WWE, has been released by the company.
Elijah Burke Released
Every few months or so, WWE starts to look down their list of contracted wrestlers and started eliminating contracts.
Generally, the company releases wrestlers who they don't feel are capable of producing profits for the company.
Once in a while, though, WWE will release a wrestler that has potential, and wrestling fans will be left scratching their heads in confusement.
Elijah Burke's release is definitely going to cause a few scalps to be scraped.
Despite being a great talker and a good in-ring performer, Elijah Burke was deemed unnecessary by WWE.
After months of not being used, Elijah Burke has been released by WWE.
Potentially Great
Make no doubt about it. Elijah Burke had the potential to be a great superstar for WWE.
While he's not going to make anyone forget about Ricky Steamboat or Dean Malenko in the ring, he was more than capable of putting on good matches.
He was quite athletic, and he had some unique moves in his moveset.
As a speaker, you'll find very few people on the active roster that can match Elijah Burke's confidence and delivery on the mic.
There was a moment in time where Elijah Burke should have been elevated to the ECW Heavyweight Championship.
He also could have been elevated to the WWE United States Heavyweight Championship as well.
Unfortunately, though, we won't be seeing that any time soon now.
Elijah Burke to TNA
Anytime a wrestler gets released from WWE, the rumor mills start churning about their possible debut in TNA.
It doesn't matter if the person being released is a main event wrestler, a diva, a midcarder, a tag team wrestler, or even a developmental wrestler. The rumors are bound to spring up.
Not every wrestler that leaves WWE ends up in TNA. I don't care what anyone says. That's simply not true.
Elijah Burke, though, should draw serious considerations from TNA because of his vast potential.
He has a place in TNA's midcard level, right there along with the likes of Eric Young, James Storm and Robert Roode.
Closing Thoughts
The other releases don't bother me as much as this one. I really thought WWE had a future star in Elijah Burke. |
