Christian/Edge Reunion

With Christmas right around the corner, it seems like every wrestling fan is wishing for a Christian/Edge reunion.
Jumping the Gun
Before I get started, I'd like to remind everyone that Christian Cage has not signed a deal with WWE just yet.
In fact, he hasn't even made up his mind yet about which company he wants to wrestle for.
Wishful thinking has caused a lot of people to assume that it's already a done deal.
This article is basically taking a look at how things COULD work out.
Christian/Edge Reunion
With Christian Cage potentially returning to WWE, wrestling fans have begun to imagine all of the different possibilities for him.
Since he has a long and storied history with Edge, most of the ideas have involved the two of them together.
Some want to see them feuding with one another. Others want to see them reuniting as a tag team.
Team ZECC
Remember when WWE capitalized on the real life friendship between Christian Cage, Edge, Kurt Angle and Rhino? Team RECK ring a bell?
Well, WWE needs to capitalize on the real life friendship between Christian Cage and Edge again.
They shouldn't be put in a tag team, though. That would be a waste of two singles star.
Instead, use their massive popularity together in a stable.
You're probably wondering who the "Z" and "C" are in the team name, right? It's Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins.
While they may not be close friends with Edge and Christian, the two guys do have an on-screen history with Edge.
Plus, fans haven't really cared about Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins since they stopped being lackeys for Edge anyways.
The stable has potential to be huge on Smackdown. It could definitely provide the "can't miss" aspect that the show has been missing for a while now.
Family Feud
After a nice run together in the stable, WWE can then have these two guys part ways again.
If the stable generates enough momentum, then a match between Edge and Christian Cage could potentially headline Wrestlemania in 2010.
That match combined with a match between Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy would be a marketing goldmine for WWE.
Closing Thoughts
Before we get too deep into the dream, though, we should wake up and realize that Christian Cage has yet to sign a contract. |
