After a little dispute, Awesome Kong and TNA have come to an agreement on a brand new contract.

Approximately a year ago, Awesome Kong made a huge impact for TNA when she signed on to become the heel centerpiece for the Knockouts division.

With the division doing much better than expected, Awesome Kong has decided to renew her contract with TNA to remain with the company.

A Little Heat

There was a little bit of tension between Awesome Kong and TNA in regards to the financial aspects of the contract.

Knowing that the Knockouts division was good for the overall ratings of TNA iMPACT!, Awesome Kong decided to attempt to get more money out of the company.

If you've ever been involved in situation where a contract was involved, you would do exactly what she did.

There are scrub players in the NBA and the NFL that attempt to get more money despite not deserving it.

Being the heel centerpiece of the division, Awesome Kong definitely deserved it.

Nothing Personal

There's no doubt that TNA likes having Awesome Kong in the company.

Her unique look and style makes her a great character to have, especially since every babyface female wrestler can be used in an underdog role.

Awesome Kong also does not cause a lot of trouble backstage.

However, TNA is simply handling business by trying to minimize the raise that they're giving to her.

The general belief is that she doesn't have a lot of leverage since WWE isn't that viable of an option for her.

While WWE has expressed interest in her in the past, she simply does not fit in with what the company is trying to do creatively.

What's Next?

Now that Awesome Kong has been signed to stay with the company, TNA needs to find some fresh babyfaces for her to feud with.

Her monster appeal is only good if there are underdog babyface female wrestlers for the fans to get behind.

Taylor Wilde has been an excellent foe, but Awesome Kong needs more variety.

It might be time for TNA to start pushing Roxxy Laveaux as a challenger before she loses any more momentum.

Closing Thoughts

From a wrestling perspective, this was the best move for both Awesome Kong and TNA.
