Team 3D Staying in TNA

by Jack Windham
September 7, 2008

There were talks that Team 3D was contemplating a return to WWE, but in the end, the duo decided to stick with TNA.

WWE Return

As their contracts' expiration date kept getting close, wrestling fans began speculating on the future of the Team 3D.

It's been said that both wrestlers would be welcomed back in WWE once their contracts with TNA expired.

With the WWE tag team division so weak right now, the duo would easily be able to become the top tag team again.

The Smackdown tag team division is at an all time low point, with Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder basically holding the belt because there isn't a better option (nothing against Jesse & Festus).

The Raw tag team division features two young teams (Cryme Tyme, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase) that have potential, but they're nowhere near as complete as Team 3D is.

Stay in TNA

Though a return to WWE is quite tempting, Team 3D decided that their better option was staying in TNA.

TNA actually has a tag team division that is focused on.

The company also allows Brother Ray and Brother Devon more creative freedom to do what they do best.

Plus, the relatively easier schedule in TNA allows Team 3D to focus on their business ventures.

The duo still own a wrestling school together, and Brother Devon has a smoothie shop down in Florida.

Staying in TNA allows them to remain relevant while also planning for their future after the wrestling business.

What Next?

Now that they've decided to stay in TNA, the big question is what will be next for the table smashing tandem.

Their spot in wrestling history has already been secured, so Team 3D doesn't need to be built up.

Team 3D has shown a willingness to elevate other wrestlers.

Their work with the X division wrestlers brought more focus to the high flyers.

Plus, Team 3D can be used to elevate tag teams like LAX and the Motor City Machine Guns (who need to be pushed again).

Brother Ray's incredible mic skills can also be quite useful in the big storyline that TNA is planning between the legends and the younger wrestlers.

If there's anyone that can create a buzz with this storyline, it's Brother Ray.

His scathing promos would be absolutely entertaining.

Closing Thoughts

It would have been nice to have seen the Dudley Boys back in WWE, but staying in TNA was a wiser decision.
