Shawn Michaels suffered a serious injury at the Monday Night Raw tapings this week, and it could signal the end of his career.

Severely Injured

Shawn Michaels was severely injured at the Monday Night Raw tapings over the weekend.

Word going around backstage was that Shawn Michaels suffered a torn triceps when he dove through the bottom ropes onto Lance Cade.

There's also word going around right now that Shawn Michaels may still work his Unforgiven match against Chris Jericho.

Personally, I think that would be a pretty bad idea since it could make things a lot worse than they already are right now.

Untimely End

The injury to Shawn Michaels signals the end of the most entertaining storyline on the Raw brand.

This now means that the writers need to come up with another storyline that will take over as the lead storyline for the brand.

Chris Jericho has picked up quite a bit of momentum over the last several weeks and has become the top heel on the brand.

The new lead storyline should rightfully involve him in some capacity.

Chris Jericho's performance right now as a heel could be useful in helping to give CM Punk more credibility as a champion.

The End

There are those that believe that this injury could signal the end of Shawn Michaels' career.

He's already accomplished just about everything that he can in the wrestling industry.

He's also at a stage in his life where wrestling is nowhere near as big of a priority as his family is.

Shawn Michaels could simply choose to walk away from the business; when he suffered a serious knee injury last year, he was tempted to retire.

Saving Grace

Losing Shawn Michaels is going to hurt since he's still one of the most popular wrestlers around.

Fortunately, though, there's going to be some main event wrestlers making their returns soon.

Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio are expected to return soon, and they should be able to help fill some of the void left by Shawn Michaels' absence.

A feud between Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho could be a pretty hot ticket.

Closing Thoughts

Hopefully, Shawn Michaels is able to give us one more match before he decides to walk away from the business.
